Photo enforcement is worth it | Federal Way letters

I do not understand why anyone would want Federal Way to get rid of the traffic cameras.

I do not understand why anyone would want Federal Way to get rid of the traffic cameras.

If these people obey the laws, they will not get fined. If they do break the law (and they are probably in the habit of running red lights and speeding through school zones), they will be fined. If those cameras have saved one life, and I’m pretty sure it’s been more than one life, they are worth it. If they haven’t, they are still worth it.

“The Federal Way fathers have sucked $1.25 million out of the pockets of the citizens,” says one critic. The Federal Way fathers, cops, judges or anyone else have not sucked anything out of your pocket. You tossed it at the cameras as you broke the law.

Quit running red lights and speeding through school zones. Pay your fines and get on with your life. Regarding the $1.25 million you threw at the camera, I don’t care what is done with the money, whether it’s paying for more cameras, more police, more firemen, more teachers, bettering our schools or throwing a big party, it’s not my money any longer and if I really cared, I would not be throwing it at cameras.

Oh yes, I have been caught breaking the law and got caught by a camera, and I thought I paid through the nose. I was speeding through a school zone, but I broke the law, paid the fine of $150 or $250, I don’t remember, was humiliated and got on with my life.
