Mayor election and the fight for change | Federal Way letters

Kudos to The Mirror for its recommendation of Jim Ferrell and Skip Priest in the primary election for mayor. The bottom line is of course change, and these two candidates represent the best chance for that happening. That said, this writer asks you to vote Ferrell. My reasons are simple, basic, and at least for me, obvious. Ferrell has had the courage to fight for change — while bucking the status quo that has stymied those changes. He has stood alone against the powers that be when massive pet projects were okayed. And he has withstood wild and unsubstantiated claims about his “motives.” I’m here to tell you, as someone who has gotten to know him, that his motives are simply to do the best job possible for the people of this city. As a King County Prosecutor, he received awards for inspirational leadership. That’s the kind of leadership we need about now.
