RE: “Latino immigration: The All-American freakout” by Tito Hinojos (May 29):

Your column has so many biased remarks I hardly know where to begin. First of all, have you read the bill the governor of Arizona has proposed? If you have, then you realize that safeguards are written into it against racial profiling. You name your column Latino immigration. It’s not legal immagration that the residents of Arizona and most Americans are against, it’s illegal Mexicans and others crossing our border with Mexico illegally by the thousands.

There have recently been two rapes reported: One a few weeks ago in the Wapato area of Tacoma, and one in Seattle, both by Mexican men. The one in Seattle was a Mexican illegal who had been deported but returned from Mexico nine times. The citizens of Arizona have every right to demand that something be done to stop this influx of illegals coming across their boder as the federal government has done nothing to stop it except to play politics with the safety concerns of the citizens of Arizona.

By the way, your beloved Mexico has far stricter laws against illegals coming to Mexico than Arizona or the U.S.A. has – surely you know that already. Your remarks about the law lead me to believe you have not read it or you have read it but do not understand it.

You are using the race card like so many do when they can’t win the debate. Let me correct your last sentence: Most Americans feel America is a great nation under God indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. It’s too bad you can’t see that and appreciate that as an American.
