Have you seen the voter’s pamphlet for the upcoming election? If you have, you will probably notice something that caught my attention.
Part of the pamphlet is devoted to explaining Initiative 1033. Part of the pamphlet is on Referendum 71. Initiative 1033 will impact every person in the state and it gets eight pages of the pamphlet. Referendum 71 will impact a small minority and it gets 36 pages! It seems to me that this is a bit of overkill. I am suspicious of things that are an overkill.
I am suspicious, too, of another issue that is before our Congress. This is the health care reform bill. I am told that it is 1,200 pages long. I am told, too, that even the politicians who wrote this bill have not read it or understand it. I am suspicious. I vote no.
