Get a grip and say what you want | Federal Way letters

I guess this must be an election year because it appears that if one party (Democrats or GOP) writes about something they believe in, then it’s open season on an American citizen’s opinion.

I can’t believe the childish behavior of so many people in one party. I thought we were all American citizens and are entitled to our opinion, whether those who wrote about the GOP party being “high and mighty,” or in one case racial. Really?

I think those who don’t like one party or the other should get a grip, vote the way they want and say what they want, then get over it. I do.

The anger and hate that came out of two “letters” was so mean and uncalled for, one against columnist Walter Backstrom, and the other against the Republican Party. Is this what our country is coming to? We have had good and poor quality presidents over the past 40 years, but we seem to be able to handle problems like grownups, and elect men and/or women to any office in hopes they will make a difference in our lives. Sometimes we hit and sometimes we miss. But in the end, this is our country, (so remember) those who have had family who fought in any of the past or present wars, so we could have this freedom of speech.
