We feel compelled to write regarding the outstanding performance of the Federal Way police officer involved in the car chase occurring on July 26. The incident started in Federal Way and ended in a fatal accident in Milton.

My husband, who is retired from the force himself, and I arrived on the scene within seconds of the accident. We identified ourselves to the officer and helped all we could until help arrived.

The young officer took control, gave commands and acted with total confidence, professionalism and compassion. His performance was far beyond exceptional, to say the least. We can only hope and pray if we ever need police help, we will be blessed with an officer of this caliber.

The Federal Way Police Department should be very proud to have officers like him on its Thin Blue Line.
