(RE: “Where were our local legislators for town hall,” letters, Feb. 24): On Monday, Feb. 20, our 30th District Democrat legislators Mark Miloscia (D) and Tracey Eide (D) were accepting constituents into their offices in Olympia hearing concerns from the people they represent.
I know this for a fact. I was one among others of Federal Way’s known Democrats to visit their offices, as well as Rep. Katrina Asay (R). All three were present in Olympia on that day. Miloscia and Eide were not disenfranchising the citizens from representation, nor did they have scheduling conflicts about meeting their constituents as their doors were open welcoming all from the 30th District, including you and me. There were plenty of other legislators and committees working there, doing what they do best — serving the people.
The writer of the above article keeps stating that Miloscia and Eide were absent. Let me assure you that statement is false. Both of them were on the clock working diligently for our 30th District, as witnessed by thousands that were in the beautiful marble halls and offices of the lawmaking buildings. Schools were out that day, giving our kids and their parents an experience in visiting our Capitol and being able to visit their representatives, both Democrats and Republicans. They were enjoying seeing some of the work of our lawmakers. It was a big day with having visitors from all over.
Mark Miloscia and Tracey Eide did not put aside their legislative duties. I dare say, that they would have more visitors in Federal Way than the number they saw and talked with in Olympia.
They did not skip a day of work. In fact I have pictures of at least Eide there at work in the offices and halls of Olympia.
They were very much at work. No skipping out. I witnessed Eide in her office as I discussed a few bills with her. There were also other 30th District constituents with me during this visit. I also visited with Representative Katrina Asay while there.
This sounds like Democrat bashing to me.
