Condemnation deal is a bad idea | Federal Way letters

Thanks to our city council’s recent decision, I am ashamed to admit I live in Federal Way.

(Re: Condemnation letter for Toys “R” Us property): Thanks to our city council’s recent decision, I am ashamed to admit I live in Federal Way.

I am referring to the nefarious (and possibly criminal) recent activity of the Federal Way City Council in agreeing to write a condemnation letter for land for a performing arts center. Why? So the seller can avoid paying his taxes! Woe to those who call evil good and good evil. The end never justifies the means.

I have a few questions for our city council. Are you so desperate for a performing arts center that you’re willing to trash the good name of Federal Way to achieve that end? Is Federal Way a good place to raise children when our leadership cannot lead by example? What should we call the new performing arts center? “Godfather Center” or “Cheaters West?” Good citizens of Federal Way, what do we do about this? Can we impeach those members of the council who would treat the law lightly? Mayor Skip Priest, we need you to damage control.

Thank you Jim Ferrell for opposing the purchase because I, too, believe we cannot afford those costs at this time. Thank you Jim Ferrell and Jack Dovey for opposing the condemnation letter. A good name is more desirable than anything else. As for the rest of the council, do you need to spend some time in the “lock up” to get your heads on straight?
