Thank you for running the piece “Why God and fathers matter” in the April 11 edition.

I thought columnist Walter Backstrom showed love and compassion, though I’m sure that some would think he is being judgmental. Taking a stand for something sometimes can appear judgmental. In truth, it is standing up for what is right, not standing against individuals in judgment.

I hope that Walter Backstrom’s love can be felt by those who don’t agree with him, and, more importantly felt, God’s love.
