Outdoor, patio dining options in Federal Way

Enjoy al fresco dining and drinking while still respecting public health guidelines.

If you’re looking to take advantage of the warmer weather and respect public health guidelines, try out some of the Federal Way restaurants with outdoor and patio dining options.

Gov. Jay Inslee tightened restrictions on indoor activities, such as restaurant operations, in late July.

For restaurants, indoor dining will be limited to members of the same household and alcohol service must end at 10 p.m. Bars, taverns, breweries, wineries and distilleries must close all indoor service, regardless of whether food is served, the Mirror previously reported.

JP’s Tavern, located at 32925 1st Avenue South, opened a six-table patio area earlier this week to welcome customers amid the summer heat wave. Abbe Vineyard Winery, Federal Way’s only winery, is located at 530 S. 373rd Street and offers possibly the largest space for patio and outdoor drinking within city limits.

The winery has implemented individual cabanas for the safety of customers and also has a spacious veranda. Combined, the winery’s options are suitable to safely welcome about 60 people at a time.

Several other restaurants in the area have opened up the sunshades to allow customers to enjoy their meals outdoors.
