The Wal-Mart Foundation and DBM Contractors recently invested their own money, in an effort to reduce and deter crime in their areas, to stretch the city’s Safe City camera pool from downtown to South 356th Street. The city now has 36 Safe City cameras in place.

The cameras’ video feed is transmitted to the police station and patrol cars. Volunteers monitor the feed on a regular basis looking for criminal activity. They can then make police aware of the activity and keep an eye on the suspect as police respond to the scene.
