The King County Library System is hosting InfoBiz, a series of classes for small businesses, this fall at its libraries.

Five smart secrets for building your new business
This class, presented by Dennis Thompson, CPA, will teach useful strategies for building a new business.
The free class runs noon to 1 p.m. Sept. 19 at the library. Attendees can learn about:
• Why people buy and why they should buy from you
• Why TME equals Time, Money and Energy
• Why understanding accounting is crucial for the success of your business.

Accounting 101
Dennis Thompson, CPA, will lead “Accounting 101 for small business owners” from noon to 1 p.m. Sept. 26 at the Federal Way Regional Library.
Learn how to handle common business transactions and basic accounting terminology. Classes teaches how to read and interpret your company’s financial statements. Attendees can also learn some basic bookkeeping tips, tax planning strategies and more.

Business research
Presented by librarian Steven Bailey, “Introduction to business research using library resources” presents an overview of several powerful business databases for conducting company and general industry research.
The class runs noon to 1 p.m. Oct. 3 at the library, 34200 1st Way S., Federal Way.
Attendees can learn about resources such as Reference USA, the Business and Company Resource Center, the ABI/Inform Trade and Industry, and Associations Unlimited.
