Federal Way Chamber CEO to serve as class advisor

Institute for organization management, the professional development program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, has chosen Rebecca Martin, president of the Greater Federal Way Chamber of Commerce to serve as a class advisor at institute for organization management in 2015.

Institute for organization management, the professional development program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, has chosen Rebecca Martin, president of the Greater Federal Way Chamber of Commerce to serve as a class advisor at institute for organization management in 2015. Institute is an intensive week-long nonprofit leadership training program to be held July 12-16 at Loyola University in Los Angeles, Calif.

Since its commencement in 1921, the institute program has been educating tens of thousands of association, chamber and other nonprofit leaders on how to build stronger organizations, better serve their members and become strong business advocates.

Institute’s class advisers play a pivotal role throughout the week, facilitating learning and building team spirit for their homerooms. Each adviser is an Institute graduate selected by the Board of Regents to serve as an on-site resource for participants.

“Class advisers are essential to institute’s success,” said Raymond P. Towle, President of institute for organization management at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation. “These volunteers not only help their individual classes make the most of their time at institute, but they encourage group camaraderie prior to the program and keep the momentum alive after the week is over.”

Martin is a certified chamber professional with experience in economic development, tourism, small business, education, as well as membership organizations and public sector entities. In addition to her IOM, Martin is one of only 6 percent of chamber executives in the u.s. with the CCE designation from the American Chamber of Commerce Executives. She is currently one of seven CCE certified professional in the Washington.
