Discount department store Sierra is opening a location in Federal Way with a celebration that begins 8 a.m. May 17.

The store is located at 1209 S. 320th St. next to Safeway and is the chain’s third location in the state, according to the company. Full-time and part-time jobs are also available.

Sierra is part of the T.J. Maxx family of brands. The company offers apparel and accessories for the outdoors as well as everyday clothing, footwear and home decor, according to an announcement.

Sierra also made a $10,000 donation to local nonprofit organization Institute for Family Development, which provides a range of services for families along with a mission to reduce reliance on foster care.
