Brooklake Christian School held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, celebrating 30 years in Federal Way.

Mayor Jim Ferrell was on hand for the event, which also recognized the schools new Head of Schools Keri Ingraham. During the event, school officials announced several school updates, including updating the Brooklake Christian School campus, technological advancements with the use of iPads in the classrooms and a state-of-the-art security system.

Founded in 1984, the mission of Brooklake Christian School is to encourage and equip students to follow Jesus in a nurturing and thriving learning environment.

The school seeks to prepare students across subjects with the 21st Century learning skills of critical thinking, media literacy, communication, collaboration, information literacy and creativity, from a Biblical worldview, according to the school’s website.

Brooklake Christian School meets the requirements set by the Washington State Department of Education and is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International.

Additionally, the school is affiliated with the Principals Association of Christian Schools and the Greater Federal Way Chamber of Commerce.
