July 19
• There were no vehicle thefts reported and no vehicles were recovered on this day.
• Eluding the police outside Dick’s: At 12:50 a.m., an officer observed an unlicensed BMW drifting in front of the Dick’s Drive-In on Pacific Highway South, and after attempting a traffic stop, the vehicle fled. The officer was able to deploy a StarChase GPS projectile before the vehicle ran the red light at South 320th Street and Pacific Highway South. The projectile was removed however, and the vehicle and its driver got away. The projectile was recovered in the 100 block of S 320th St.
July 20
• There were three vehicle thefts reported and no vehicles were recovered on this day.
• Fraud to the tune of $1,000: At 4:29 p.m., an officer handled a fraud case at the 31000 block of 14th Ave. S, where the reporting party said they were being scammed out of $1,000 with the suspect pretending to be a King County Sheriff deputy and requesting a transfer through Walmart Money Center.
• Masturbator outside tutoring center: At 7:48 p.m., a woman reported witnessing a man masturbating in front of her and her child at the 1500 block of S 336th St., where she was picking her child up from a tutoring center. The suspect was described as a white man with a silver sedan, license plate starting with the letter “C.” The suspect was not located and the case is inactive pending CCTV discovery.
July 21
• There was one vehicle theft reported and no vehicles were recovered on this day.
• Assault: At 1:05 a.m., police responded to an assault on a Federal Way Schools security officer off of Pacific Highway S. No suspects have been identified.
July 22
• There were no vehicle thefts reported and no vehicles were recovered on this day.
• Altercation at WinCo: At 12:39 p.m., officers responded to an assault at Winco, where the reporting party and witnesses stated that he had asked a family if their juvenile girl sitting in their cart was on special sale, which upset the adults. They began to argue with the reporting party, called him a pedophile and one of the adults struck him in the head area. The family then left the store and drove away in a dark maroon Ford Edge.
• Attempted forced entry: At 4:16 p.m., officers responded to a report that a man was attempting to force his way into an apartment while armed. Police located the man nearby and he was arrested for burglary of a residence and attempted forced entry.
July 23
• There were two vehicle thefts reported and no vehicles were recovered on this day.
• Fraud boss: At 4:06 p.m., a reporting party at 28000 block of 16th Ave. S told police that an unknown man was impersonating his employer and requesting gift cards through text messages. The reporting party had sent a total of $200 in gift cards but, after contacting the employer, the reporting party realized the request had been fraudulent. He had contacting the gift card company and was refunded the money but still wanted to inform police of the scam.
July 24
• There was one vehicle thefts reported and no vehicles were recovered on this day.
• Argument at LA Fitness: At 10:01 a.m., a 911 call was made by a woman who had been in an argument with a man over gym equipment at the LA Fitness. The woman’s husband arrived to the gym and becoming involved in the argument with the man. The man believed he had been assaulted due to the husband placing an open palm on his shoulder and the husband left the gym before police had arrived. No probable cause for a crime was established.
July 25
• There was one vehicle thefts reported and no vehicles were recovered on this day.
• Door Dash hit-and-run: At 6:25 p.m., officers responded to a hit-and-run at the Seattle Children’s Hospital. The witness, who worked at the hospital, had ordered Door Dash and saw her Door Dash driver reverse into another vehicle, get out of his vehicle, deliver the order to her and then leave without acknowledging the collision. The driver was identified and a case of hit-and-run was forwarded to the prosecutors office.
July 26
• There were no vehicle thefts reported and no vehicles were recovered on this day.
• Assault 4 at Wild Waves: At 4:01 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Wild Waves where the reporting party stated that an unknown man had groped her while she was in line for the Timber Hawk ride. Police detained a male suspect who had matched the description and probable cause for Assault 4 with Sexual Motivations was confirmed. The man was arrested and taken to SCORE jail.
July 27
• There were no vehicle thefts reported and no vehicles were recovered on this day.
• Drive-by shooting: At 10:43 a.m., police responded to a report of a drive-by shooting at 3000 block of 2nd Ave. S that had occurred on July 25. Officers were able to locate three bullet defects in the reporting party’s home. No injuries had been reported and CCTV footage of the shooting was recovered.
