July 6

• There were no vehicle thefts reported and no vehicles were recovered on this day.

Damaged gas pump: At 12:01 p.m., a damaged gas pump at the 2700 block of Pacific Hwy. S was reported to police. A man did not remove the gas nozzle and hose from his vehicle when he had finished fueling, causing the nozzle and hose to be ripped from the gas pump and the nozzle to still be attached to the vehicle. There is no information on the driver or the vehicle and the replacement cost for the damaged pump is $2,000.

Random assault: At 3:26 p.m. at the 100 block of S 320th St. officers responded to an assault where the victim was walking in front of the location and was then struck in the face with a closed fist by a passing man. The attack was “seemingly random” and the suspect was not located in the area. There were no reported injuries and CCTV had captured the incident.

July 7

• There was one vehicle theft reported and no vehicles were recovered on this day.

Stolen fences: At 7:18 a.m., a report came in about a theft of fencing panels from a construction company working near the 500 block of S 320th St. There was no surveillance footage of the theft and the investigation is inactive until new information comes in.

Am I really a fugitive?: At 1:37 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of S Star Lake Rd. where the reporting party said that she had been receiving fraudulent text messages and PDF documents claiming that she was a fugitive and would be arrested if she did not transfer money to the suspect through a bank transfer. The reporting party did not send the money and asked to speak with an officer to confirm that she was not the subject of outstanding warrants. She was advised that this was a common scam and was instructed to block the number and stop all communication.

Dog bite at the dog park: At 7:26 p.m., a report came in that two dogs named Sophia began fighting at the French Lake Dog Park, and that when the victim tried to separate the two dogs, she was then bitten in the left thigh, causing two puncture wounds and bleeding abrasions. She was treated on scene and took herself to the hospital. The owner of the biting dog was cooperative and stayed at the scene, securing her dog.

July 8

• There were three vehicle thefts reported and no vehicles were recovered on this day.

Purse stolen overnight: At 1:20 p.m., police were dispatched to the 3300 block of 26th Pl. SW where the victim’s purse was stolen from her parked vehicle overnight. She told police that she had put the purse and her lunch bag in the vehicle the night before for work and that the window was slightly rolled down. The purse contained her wallet and 9mm Glock handgun magazine, but the firearm itself was with the victim.

Assault: At the 2200 block of S Commons, police were dispatched at 4:34 p.m. after a group of juveniles had assaulted a transient man.

July 9

• There were two vehicle thefts reported and no vehicles were recovered on this day.

Firearm assault: At 1:22 a.m., officers responded to a threat with a firearm at the 2100 block of SW 352nd St. The suspect was located in a parking lot and was arrested for Assault 2 and booked into jail

July 10

• There were no vehicle thefts reported and no vehicles were recovered on this day.

KCSO warrant, damaged phone: At 1:04 a.m., an officer observed a person riding a bicycle without a helmet and performed a subject stop. The subject’s name came back a warrant from King County Sheriff’s Office for Assault 2 for $5,050. After the officer searched the subject, his phone was placed on top of the police vehicle by the officer and was forgotten there. When the vehicle pulled away, the phone fell from the roof of the car and when the officer stopped to pick it up, he found that it was damaged.

Sexual assault leads to unexpected arrest: At 10:34 p.m., officers responded to a report of a sexual assault at the 2700 block of Pacific Hwy. S. The reporting party told police that the suspect had entered her home and assaulted her while holding a knife. The suspect was not able to be contacted and the reporting party was arrested and transported to St. Francis hospital for an Involuntary Treatment Act warrant.

July 11

• There were no vehicle thefts reported and no vehicles were recovered on this day.

Drunk man in park: At 7:06 p.m., a report came in of an individual acting strangely at the 100 block of S 324th Pl. A group of juveniles playing soccer observed the man joining a group of people laying in the park though he was uninvited. He then joined the reporting party’s group and began to act aggressively, which included trapping one juvenile in the soccer goal netting. When the officer arrived on the scene, the man was observed laying on the ground but then attempted to play with the juveniles before falling over again. The man was intoxicated and officers found that he was a danger to himself.

July 12

• There were two vehicle thefts reported and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

Threat from neighbor: At 2:30 p.m., police were dispatched to the 2900 block of 18th Ave. S where the victim reported an unprovoked threat from a neighbor, who had threatened to kill the victim and his wife. The neighbor returned to his home and could not be contacted and was not arrested.
