June 29

• There were three vehicle thefts reported and three vehicles were recovered on this day.

Feline harassment: At 3:28 p.m., police were dispatched to the 2800 block of 18th Ave. S. for a report of harassment. When they arrives, the reporting woman told police that she was having mental health struggles and that she was being harassed by her neighbor’s cat.

June 30

• There was one vehicle theft reported and no vehicles were recovered on this day.

Stolen out of storage: At 11:13 a.m., a report came in from a renter at Daffodil Storage who had found on June 28 that 60 pairs of shoes and 30 pieces of clothing were stolen from her storage unit. The renter said that the last time she was in the unit, it was June 15 or 16. The total estimated cost of the stolen items is $4,950.

Annie forgot your gun: At 3:38 p.m., the manager of the Century Theaters found a loaded firearm in a holster unattended on a seat in one of the theater rooms. A check of the serial number showed no record and the firearm was submitted into evidence as found property.

July 1

• There was one vehicle theft reported and two vehicles were recovered on this day.

Phone stolen from car: At 11:30 a.m., police were dispatched to the 100 block of SW 312th St. where a man told them that he had left his phone in his unlocked vehicle while going into the gas station. When he came back, he had found that the phone had been stolen, which was corroborated by security footage. However, the quality of the footage did not allow police to identify the suspect or the make, model or license plate of their vehicle. The victim’s phone does not have a way of tracking it and no serial number.

Shoplifting with a getaway: At 6:31 p.m., an employee of a retail store at the 35000 block of Enchanted Pkwy S. observed a man in his 30s shoplift $500 worth of merchandise by concealing the items in a special lining of his jacket that was designed to prevent detection. The employee confronted the shoplifter, who continued out of the store and fled the scene in a van.

Leave the gun, take the cologne: At 7:11 p.m., officers responded to a call about a theft from a vehicle at the 1400 block of S. 348th St. The vehicle’s front passenger window had been broken in and a backpack full of miscellaneous cologne was stolen. It is noted that no firearms or tracking devices were stolen from the vehicle.

July 2

• There were no vehicle thefts reported and no vehicles were recovered on this day.

Early morning theft: At 7:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 30000 block of 11th Pl. S. where an unknown suspect had unlawfully entered the victim’s vehicle where they had stolen approximately $8,000 worth of tools and work equipment. The theft is believed to have taken place at 5:15 a.m. when a neighbor observed a white Toyota Corolla with unknown plates leaving the victim’s driveway with property hanging out of the vehicle.

Sauna date gone wrong: At 4:19 p.m., officers received a report of a theft at the 3200 block of Pacific Hwy S. where, the previous day, a man had visited a sauna for recreation with a woman he had met on a dating app. When the man returned from taking a shower, he noticed the woman was gone and that his wallet and keys were missing. He only knew the woman’s first name.

July 3

• There was one vehicle theft reported and no vehicles were recovered on this day.

Phone theft at Costco: At 6:04 p.m., police received a report of a phone theft from a woman at Costco. The woman had noticed her phone had gone missing and decided to wait for it to be turned in. After CCTV footage was found to be grainy, the victim’s sister began tracking the phone to an address in Auburn. The victim had been advised that, when the phone became stationary, that she should then enlist Auburn Police to try and retrieve the phone. It is noted that the victim was advised that most of the time, stolen phones are sold via the ECO ATM and can be retrieved free of charge with a police case number.

Threats from serial neighborhood troublemaker: At 10:50 p.m., police responded to a harassment report at the 1400 block of SW 352nd Ct.. The victim told police that he was watering his lawn when a “serial neighborhood troublemaker” walked past him and, without provocation, the troublemaker began verbally harassing the victim, took a fighting stance and said, “I’ll kill you.” The troublemaker walked away but then returned, threatening the victim and others again, before leaving to go to his home. Officers did an extensive search, saying the troublemaker had somehow slipped back into his residence and refused to exit the building.

Illegal fireworks: At 11:25 p.m., police responded to a fireworks ignition at the 1900 block of SW Campus Dr. They found discarded fireworks and an iPhone, which was picked up for safekeeping.

July 4

• There were no vehicle thefts reported and no vehicles were recovered on this day.

Gunshots before sunrise: At 4:32 a.m., officers responded to the report of an illegal discharge at the 900 block of SW Campus Dr. The reporting party told police that he heard multiple gun shots outside of his apartment and video footage showed the suspect discharging the firearm in the air to the east of the apartment complex and police found cartridge casings located outside the apartment. Officers located the suspect and booked them into jail.

Animal bite, possible rabies: At 10:07 a.m., police responded to a report that a person at the 1600 block of SW Dash Point Rd. had been bitten by an undislosed animal two days prior. The report said that this had been a third occurrence and a second bite to a person and that there has been a declaration of viciousness and a rabies quarantine.

Driving dirt bike with suspended license: At 5:44 p.m., officers stopped an unlicensed off-road dirt bike driving near 100 block of SW 292nd St. The driver was found to be concealing a firearm without a concealed pistol license and that he was driving while license suspended. The driver was cited and released while his dirt bike was impounded and the firearm was booked for evidence.

July 5

• There were no vehicle thefts reported and no vehicles were recovered on this day.

Brawl at Kitts Corner: At 8:29 p.m., officers responded to a brawl between neighbors a the Kitts Corner apartments over a perceived slight that included broken glass. Police found that the brawl included three adults and three juveniles. Police took conflicting statements over what took places and video taken by both sides showed that both sides were taunting and aggressive. At the time of the report, neither parties wanted to press charges, but it was noted that this could change.
