May 26

• The FWPD did not provide any records for this day.

May 27

• There was one vehicle theft reported and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

• Lost dog: Officers located a lost dog at approximately 5:49 p.m. running around the parking lot of Walmart at the 34500 block of 16th Avenue S. An announcement was made over the intercom, but no one responded to claim the animal, who has now been turned over to Animal Services.

• Vehicle fire: A vehicle fire at approximately 4:06 p.m. near South 272nd St. required investigation by Federal Way officers after concerns of arson.

May 28

• There was one vehicle theft reported and no vehicles were recovered on this day.

• Butcher knife: At approximately 2:11 p.m., officers were able to use a less lethal weapon, a trained hostage negotiator and the Involuntary Treatment Act also known as Ricky’s Law to safely get a suicidal subject mental health support despite her walking toward officers with a butcher knife and initially not cooperating with officer commands.

May 29

• There were no vehicle thefts reported and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

• Juvenile arrested: Officers were dispatched to a report of a white Audi sedan playing very loud music and the driver appeared to have been drinking at approximately 4:34 p.m. near the 35700 block of 18th Avenue SW. Officers investigated and arrested the driver, who turned out to be a juvenile.

• Several warrants: After being detained for public drug use at approximately 12:33 p.m. behind an auto supply store on Pacific Highway S., a male subject was found to have several warrants. He was subsequently arrested, then closed his eyes and stopped supporting his own weight. After being assessed by South King Fire and Tri-Med, he was found to have no abnormalities or need for a hospital visit.

• Missing coins: $7,000 worth of collectible coins were reported missing by an individual who named his girlfriend as the suspect, sharing that they had had an argument and he later noticed the coins were missing. He was unable to produce his girlfriend’s full name or phone number, or any record of ownership of the coins.

May 30

• There were no vehicle thefts reported and no vehicles were recovered on this day.

• Mask and sunglasses: At approximately noon, an individual wearing a balaclava and sunglasses stole items from Total Wine. The individual made threats of violence, but because no weapon was shown, King County filing guidelines dictate that the theft and threats do not constitute 2nd degree robbery, but instead probable cause for 3rd degree theft and harassment.

May 31

• There were no vehicle thefts reported and two vehicles were recovered on this day.

• Recovered vehicle: A recovered stolen vehicle turned out to be evidence related to an armed robbery in the Seattle Police Department’s jurisdiction. The vehicle was found in the parking lot of apartments in the 27900 block of Pacific Highway S.

• Fight on a bus: At approximately 8 p.m., officers responded to a reported physical fight on a King County Metro Bus. While en route, they learned that the primary aggressors had fled and the victim stated that her and four other occupants had engaged in a verbal altercation prior to the physical escalation. King County Sheriff’s Office Metro units were dispatched due to the location of the incident.

June 1

• There were three vehicle thefts reported and no vehicles were recovered on this day.

• Wheelbarrow: A male and female were captured on surveillance footage stealing a wheelbarrow from a display at approximately midnight at a local hardware store on Enchanted Parkway S.

• Behind the wheel: Officers responded to a male passed out behind the wheel of a running vehicle at 6:20 a.m. on the 33800 block of 1st Way S. The individual was arrested after officers found probable cause for DUI.

• Copper wire stolen: Copper wiring was reported stolen from two buildings at a construction site on South 328th St. Signs of forced entry were found on one of the buildings.

• Collision: After her vehicle was hit in a collision at approximately 3:30 p.m. on the 33600 block of Weyerhaeuser Way S., a victim was then pushed to the ground by the driver of the vehicle after they both pulled over.
