April 14
There was one vehicle theft reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
Fighting on the bus: At 5:07 a.m. in the 31900 block of 23rd Avenue South, police responded to a Pierce Transit bus at the Federal Way Transit Center, where two people were fighting. Officers removed the two people from the bus, cited one, and the other person did not wish to press charges against the aggressor.
Using substances in public: At 8:30 p.m. in the 1700 block of South 356th Street, officers arrested a female for smoking a substance in public at a Chevron.
Juvenile sleeping: At 1:21 p.m. in the 30200 block of 20th Avenue South, a juvenile was located sleeping inside of a parked and confirmed stolen vehicle. The juvenile was arrested without incident and booked into the juvenile detention center.
Home burglary: At 12:37 p.m. in the 29000 block of 28th Place South, officers responded to a burglary, but no victims or suspects were located. Officers contacted the property owner and provided a case number. Officers spoke to the resident of the home by phone, who said that during the incident, a firearm was pointed at her, and her partner was assaulted. Arrangements were made to get a detailed statement from the victim. The case remains active.
April 15
There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.
DUI driver: At 3:29 a.m. in the 28000 block of Pacific Highway South, an officer observed a vehicle driving out of its lane and attempted to perform a traffic stop. However, the driver attempted to flee and crashed into a tree. The driver was arrested for DUI and other charges.
Rock thrown through window: At 3:02 p.m. in the 4000 block of Southwest 327th Street, a woman reported that someone threw a rock through her roommate’s window, and she believes the person who threw it might be in a dispute with her roommate. Officers told the women to have the roommate call the police if she wished. Ring camera footage of the incident was attached to the case.
April 16
There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
Woman stabs her husband in the hand: At 4:48 a.m. in the 37000 block of Third Avenue Southwest, officers were called to a suicidal subject, but left after being unable to remove the subject to a medical facility. About half an hour later, officers were called back and learned that the woman involved had stabbed her husband in the hand with a knife. The female was taken into custody. Both parties suffered minor injuries.
High school assault: At 9:52 a.m. at a Federal Way high school, a juvenile female assaulted another juvenile female during school hours. The victim suffered minor injuries.
Marijuana package: At 10:10 a.m. in the 33300 block of Eighth Avenue South, officers received a call reporting that UPS received a large package of marijuana. The package was taken to the police department and destroyed because there were no leads on who could have sent the package.
Large fight planned: At 2:41 p.m. at a Federal Way high school, an anonymous student reported that there was a fight coordinated to take place on campus at dismissal. Individuals then arrived at the school in full cars to fight, admitting so to officers. Extra police presence thwarted the attempted fight. However, officers received a report that, later, an assault occurred at an apartment complex near the high school.
Child accidentally taken: At 4:58 p.m. in the 31000 block of 28th Avenue South, officers responded to a child abduction report. A woman reported that a driving service dropped her off and left with her two-year-old. Officers stated that after further investigation, it was found that the driver left the scene unintentionally and took the child, but returned.
Man attempting to get a date: At 5:44 p.m. in the 1800 block of South 320th Street, officers took a report from a woman who said that a Hispanic man had been coming into the business she works at a few times a week, and he came one day and told her, “I have been watching you for a while. Will you go out with me?” The woman said that she told the man that she was not interested, but he continued attempting to get her to say yes. The man then came back the next day, but the manager told him to leave. No crime has been committed. Case for information only.
April 17
There was one vehicle theft reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.
Renters cause damage: At 8:19 a.m. in the 34000 block of 31st Avenue Southwest, the reporting party stated that renters caused an estimated $200,000 to $300,000 of damage. The tenants were evicted. The reporting party requested a police report for documentation. The matter was decided to be a civil issue.
Student assaulted: At 10:56 a.m. in the 4200 block of South 288th Street, a parent reported that her child was assaulted and provided video evidence. The video depicted three males assaulting the victim. Two of the students were identified as Federal Way school students, but the third male was not identified.
Strange job offer: At 12:30 p.m. in the 35000 block of Enchanted Parkway South, the reporting party stated that a customer went through the drive-through and did not buy anything, but passed a note to her. The note was a job offer, offering the woman to follow him around one to two days a week while he networked with wealthy people, and additional perks. The compensation offered was $2,000 a week. No probable cause of a crime, but the note was uploaded as evidence.
Package theft: At 1:50 p.m. in the 32200 block of Military Road South, someone reported a package theft. The victim said a white male in his 20s came, grabbed a package from her porch, and left the scene on foot. CCTV footage of the incident was captured.
April 18
There was one vehicle theft reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
Man passed out in his car: At 4:36 a.m. on Enchanted Parkway South, there was a report that a man was slumped in his car, with his car facing the wrong way in the roadway. The man was arrested for DUI.
April 19
There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
Attempted assault: At 10:42 a.m. on Pacific Highway South, officers responded to an attempted assault where the victim reported that a transient man, reported as being white wearing all black, attempted to punch him while he was sitting in his vehicle following a dispute. The victim was able to evade the punch and called 911. The transient man was not located.
Versace glasses: At 3:17 p.m. on Pacific Highway South, officers responded to a report that an unknown white man with blond hair entered a store and stole 12 pairs of Versace brand eyeglasses. The loss is between $5,000 to $6,000. No CCTV footage.
April 20
There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.
Wire stolen: At 10:21 a.m. in the 34000 block of 19th Avenue Southwest, electrical wiring at a construction site was stolen. About $3,000 in material was taken. No suspect information.
Student put in trunk: At 2:58 p.m. in the 1400 block of South 308th Street, there was a report that a male jumped out of a grey sedan, grabbed a student, and put him in the trunk of a car before the car drove off. Video of the incident was reviewed, and there did not appear to be a struggle, and it looked as if the males knew each other. The license plate of the car could not be located. No other reports of the incident were made.
Shooting guns: At 5:41 p.m. in the 30000 block of 44th Avenue Southwest, officers responded to reports of gunshots originating from Dumas Bay Sanctuary. Upon arrival, officers were witness to gunshots and apprehended two males. Two firearms were found on the males. The males were arrested and taken to SCORE jail.
