Through April 19: Centerstage Theatre presents: The 39 Steps: Local Federal Way theater company Centerstage presents this fast-paced whodunit for anyone who loves the magic of theatre. Mix a Hitchcock movie with a juicy spy novel, add a dash of Monty Python, toss it all on stage and you have “The 39 Steps.” Performed at the Knutzen Theatre located at 3200 SW Dash Point Road. Tickets are available online.
April 10: Fiber Arts Meetup: Bring your projects, including knitting, sewing, embroidery, weaving, spinning, felting or crocheting for this event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Federal Way Library located at 34200 1st Way S.
April 10: Banda Pequeños Legendarios, Pilar Valdez & Los Tukis: Armani Night Club will feature Pilar Valdez adn Los Tukis starting at 9 p.m. at 2012 S. 320th St., Suite 0 in Federal Way.
April 11: Community Clothing Swap: From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m at the South King Tool Library, located at 1700 S. 340th Pl. in Federal Way. Donating clothes is not required in order to shop, but if you have clothes to share, they can be dropped off at the tool library Mondays between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesdays 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. or Saturdays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
April 11: Tamborazo La Aldea & Los Hijos de Bello: Armani Night Club will feature live music starting at 9 p.m. at 2012 S. 320th St., Suite 0 in Federal Way.
April 11: Vaisakhi Nagar Kirtan: The Khalsa Gurmat Center is warmly inviting the community to the annual Vaisakhi Nagar Kirtan at 9 a.m. at 2835 S. 344th St. in Federal Way for an event focused on community, devotion and celebration.
April 12: Branding your Small Business: Learn how the Makerspace can help you grow your small business with two sessions, one on heat transfer vinyl t-shirts from 2:30 to 4 p.m. then a workshop on print then cut stickers from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the Federal Way Library located at 34200 1st Way S.
April 12: Celebrating Broadway: Broadway comes to Federal Way with a collection of musical classics by the Federal Way Symphony. This event will take place at 3:30 p.m. at the PAEC located at 31510 Pete von Reichbauer Way S. and includes orchestral suites of hit shows such as “Sound of Music,” “Wicked” and “West Side Story.”
April 12: DJ Phauz: Lim’s Lounge and Restaurant will have a live DJ for their Sunday Flight event with special offers on food and drinks, located at 29100 Pacific Highway S. in Federal Way.
April 13: Scouting America Open House:Looking for adventure, leadership, and fun? Go see what Scouting America is all about! April 15 – June 10: Free Basic Emergency Preparedness Course: Gain disaster preparedness skills for free in this basic course from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays from the Greater Federal Way Community Emergency Response Team (GFW CERT). These skills can help participants protect their families, and their neighbors, and gain the skills and organizational structure to respond to the immediate needs of the community, supporting first responders in the event of an emergency or disaster. April 16: State of Safety: Hear a presentation from Federal Way Police Chief Andy Hwang about safety during a Rotary club meeting at the Federal Way City Hall located at 33325 8th Avenue S.
April 17: Habib Qaderi: Habib Qaderi, a beloved Afghan music artist, will be performing in the PNW for the first time. This live concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the Federal Way PAEC, 31510 Pete von Reichbauer Way S., and will feature a professional performance of his most popular songs and offers a unique opportunity for the Afghan community and music lovers to come together for an evening of celebration and cultural connection.
April 17: Monthly Build Workshop: Infinity Cube Learn how to build your own Lego infinity cube from 6 to 7 p.m. at Bricks & Minifigs, located at 1414 S 324th St. Suite B201 in Federal Way. It’s a fun, fidget-friendly build that you’ll love to play with long after the workshop is over.

April 25: Garifuna Heritage Month: Garifuna Heritage Month is a time dedicated to honoring the resilience, history, and cultural legacy of the Garifuna people. This celebration uplifts the community’s language, music, food traditions, spirituality, and the intergenerational knowledge that continues to shape their identity. This celebration will take place at 3 p.m. in Town Square Park, located at 31620 Pete von Reichbauer Way S.
April 25: Mending Fair with the Refugee Artisan Initiative: For those who have clothes that need mending or hemming, this is a free opportunity to get up to two articles of clothing repaired. There are two sessions available and registration is open now to make sure you get in. One session is from 1 to 3 p.m. and the other is from 3 to 5 p.m. and both will take place at the Federal Way 320th Library, located at 848 S. 320th Street.

May 2: I’m Hooked Kids Fishing Event: In partnership with the I’m Hooked Inc. and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, spend the day outdoors starting at 7 a.m. (rain or shine), engage in angler education, fishing, and health and wellness activities. Community mentors will help guide your child and family in the art of fishing, nature, health, and wellness and instill a love and passion to enjoy for years to come.

May 6: PAEC Presents: Step Afrika! Experience the pulse, power, and pride of stepping with Step Afrika!, the world’s premier ensemble dedicated to this uniquely American dance form. May 8 through 16: The Sound of Music: Federal Way High School Drama and Music Departments are performing the Sound of Music musical at the FWHS Theatre, located at 30611 16th Ave S.
May 9: FW Farmers Market: Federal Way Farmers Market will open in its new location on Saturday, May 9, the day before Mother’s Day. The market runs 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. each Saturday through Sept. 26 (no market on July 4). This year’s market will look a bit different in its new home in the city center, where it will fill 316th Street between the Performing Arts and Event Center (PAEC) and Town Square Park, and host approximately 60 vendors in 12’ by 12’ tents.
May 9: Meet author A.L. Hampton: Author A.L. Hampton will be signing books and meeting fans from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Federal Way Barnes & Noble located at 31325 Pacific Highway S. She’ll be signing copies of her spicy, dark paranormal romantasy series, “The Crown of the Seven Realms.”
May 9: Book Sale: The Friends of Federal Way Libraries are hosting a book sale from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.at the library lcoated at 848 S 320th St. Browse used books, DVDs, CDs and more to raise funds for literacy and self-enrichment programs for adults, teens and children in Federal Way.
May 9: Big Band Concert II: Join the Federal Way Big Band for a second concert of swing, jazz, and big band standards at 7 p.m. at the FW PAEC located at 31510 Pete von Reichbauer Way S.
May 9 & 10: BonsaiFEST!: A 2-day celebration of bonsai,this event recognizes World Bonsai Day on Saturday and Mother’s Day on Sunday at the Pacific Bonsai Museum located at 2515 S 336th St. in Federal Way. May 12: Senior Health and Resource Fair: With 85 vendors, this will be the biggest annual senior resource fair yet and will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the PAEC, located at 31510 Pete von Reichbauer Way S. This event is hosted by the city and brings together vendors from a wide variety of services and resources geared toward seniors.
May 12: School Board Meeting: Attend the Federal Way Public Schools board meeting at 6 p.m. at Illahee Middle School located at 36001 1st Ave S in Federal Way.
May 13: Hot off the Presses Community Conversations: The Federal Way Mirror invites you to join the staff from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Poverty Bay Café for informal conversation, coffee, beer, wine and appetizers. Attendees can ask the newspaper staff about their work or talk about issues affecting the region, such as homelessness, addiction and development, all while supporting a local business and the work of nonprofit FUSION to serve families in need. Each event features a community speaker on a topic/organization important to the Federal Way community. Poverty Bay Café is located at 1108 S. 322nd Place in Federal Way, north of Celebration Park.
May 16: The Sounds of Spring – Americana: Join the Federal Way Chorale as they celebrate America’s Semiquincentennial ! May 25: Zain Zohaib: This duo is described as “among the most captivating Qawwali duos of the modern era. May 29 to May 31: Arts Explosion: The Federal Way Arts Commission is hosting the 4th Annual “Arts Explosion” Juried Art Show Festival, taking place from May 29 to May 31 at the Performing Arts and Events Center. This festival will celebrate the diversity of Federal Way, showcasing the talents of both adult and youth artists, while promoting artistic growth and community engagement. “Arts Explosion” will feature the display, judging, and sale of artwork in five categories.
