City seeks residents’ input for potential traffic devices in Federal Way

Residents are invited to attend the upcoming meeting of the City Council’s Land-Use & Transportation committee to provide input on traffic safety improvements under consideration for Southwest 330th Street, between 10th Avenue Southwest and the West Campus trail.

Residents are invited to attend the upcoming meeting of the City Council’s Land-Use & Transportation committee to provide input on traffic safety improvements under consideration for Southwest 330th Street, between 10th Avenue Southwest and the West Campus trail.

The proposed “Panther Lake Neighborhood Traffic Study” addresses local neighborhood concerns over speeding and traffic volume on this stretch of Southwest 330th Street. Since the traffic calming options being considered would affect thousands of commuters who regularly travel the roadway, the city is hoping to solicit feedback from residents outside the neighborhood, as well.

Traffic devices under consideration for Southwest 330th Street include traffic circles at Third Avenue Southwest and Sixth Avenue Southwest, and/or a speed table on Southwest 330th between Third and Sixth Avenues.

The proposal will be presented March 3 to the City Council’s Land-Use & Transportation committee meeting at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers on the second floor of City Hall. The public will have an opportunity to provide comments to committee members at that meeting, or afterwards through various options.
