March 3

There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Lewd conduct in the Walmart parking lot: At 12:10 p.m. in the 34000 block of 16th Avenue South, Walmart loss prevention detained a male for lewd conduct and drug use while in the parking lot. The male was booked into SCORE jail.

Robbery: At 12:58 p.m. in the 2400 block of Southwest 336th Street, officers responded to an armed robbery. Officers established probable cause against the male for first-degree robbery. A successful area check resulted in the male being taken into custody.

March 4

There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Fleeing from the police: At 1:30 a.m. in the 4600 block of Southwest 320th Street, officers conducted a traffic stop. The owner, who also had a warrant, began to flee in the vehicle after officers attempted to take the owner of the car into custody. The vehicle was later found near the driver’s address.

Drug trafficking organization: At 6 a.m. on 35th Avenue Southwest, Federal Way police assisted Washington State Patrol and Bellingham Regional Task Force to execute a warrant. Felony probable cause was developed by WSP to take two subjects into custody in connection with a drug trafficking organization with cartel ties.

Dogs running in school: At 11:35 a.m. in the 2800 block of Southwest 320th Street, at Decatur High School, administration notified the school resource officer that two friendly dogs were running through the school’s cafeteria and hallways. The dogs were contained in the main office, then transported to the police department. The dogs did not have identifying tags and were placed in kennels with food and water to wait for animal control.

Toy gun: At 5:52 p.m. in the 35000 block of 16th Avenue South, there was a report of juveniles harassing neighbors by kicking on their doors. Officers arrived, and a neighbor provided a video of the juveniles displaying a firearm. After officers spoke to the juveniles’ father, it was determined that the juveniles did not have a real gun. An officer emphasized to the father the seriousness of displaying what appeared to be a real firearm. No probable cause for a crime.

Fake bill: At 6:25 p.m. in the 29000 block of Pacific Highway South, officers responded to a business that was provided a fake $100 bill during a sale. The victim provided a license plate, but the registered owner did not match the suspect. Case inactive pending leads.

March 5

There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

Hit-and-run: At 2:53 a.m. in the 800 block of South Dash Point Road, officers were dispatched to a two-vehicle collision. The investigation developed probable cause for hit-and-run and driving under the influence. The driver was arrested.

Malnourished dog: At 11:32 a.m. in the 31000 block of 23rd Avenue South, officers responded to a report of an abandoned brown and black German Shepherd mix female dog. The dog had fresh cut wounds to her face, and appeared malnourished. The dog was alone and wandering the streets when it was found. The dog was transported to Burien Cares for housing. No microchip was found on the dog.

March 6

There was one vehicle theft reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Inattentive driving: At 12:09 a.m. in the 2800 block of South 304th Street, an officer noticed a vehicle stopped at a green light. An officer then noticed that the driver was asleep behind the wheel. The driver appeared to be the registered owner, who had been arrested previously, and because the officer had reasonable suspicion of DUI, the officer placed a spike strip behind a tire. After about five minutes, the driver woke up and drove over the strip. The officer stopped the driver, and he was cited for inattentive driving.

Person shot: At 7:29 p.m. on Third Place Southwest, officers responded to a shooting with injuries. At the scene, a male could be seen lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the lower left abdomen. The male was transported to Harborview Medical Center. Officers did not locate the suspect during the incident.

March 7

There were two vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Shots fired: At 1:37 a.m. on 46th Place Southwest, officers responded to a location for reports of multiple shots being fired after several different reporting parties had called 911 to report the same incident. Upon arriving on scene, officers conducted an area check where they located several fired cartridge casings inside a wooded area. No injuries were reported, and no arrests were made. This case is considered inactive as all leads have been exhausted.

Attempted burglary: At 2:51 p.m. in the 900 block of Southwest Campus Drive, the reporting party stated that there was an attempted burglary at her residence the day prior.

Physical altercation: At 9:35 p.m. on Ninth Place Southwest, officers responded to an assault between two residents of a memory care facility. It was reported that one female entered the other’s room, and once she was told to leave, the two began to engage in mutual shoving and hair-pulling. Staff broke up the altercation quickly, and the females stopped fighting. Documentation of the case was requested. No probable cause was established for a crime.

March 8

There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

Window broken by a rock: At 1:28 a.m. on South 320th Street, the victim stated that they were leaving for work when they noticed that their back window was broken by a rock.

March 9

There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and two vehicles were recovered on this day.

Possible adverse drug interaction: At 8:45 a.m., at a Federal Way school, a juvenile male student appeared to have suffered from a medical condition or adverse drug interaction. The student admitted to taking one blue pill. The student was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Offender move-in: At 12:44 p.m. in the 1800 block of South 330th Street, an offender notified the King County Sheriff’s Office that they had moved to Federal Way.
