There were two vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
Pedestrian hit: At 12:24 a.m. in the 29000 block of Pacific Highway South, officers responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian incident. The pedestrian was transported to the hospital with obvious injuries. Safe City camera footage recorded the incident and was attached to the case.
Car keys left in car: At 5:19 a.m. in the 3000 block of South 288th Street, the victim left their keys in their vehicle unattended while in their driveway and discovered that their vehicle had been taken.
Car warming up: At 6:21 a.m. in the 3000 block of South 288th Street, someone reported that they left their vehicle running while warming it up prior to leaving for work, and when they returned, their vehicle was gone. No suspect information or surveillance footage.
Jan. 28
There was one vehicle theft reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
Broken window: At 12:24 a.m. in the 2300 block of Southwest 336th Street, officers responded to an alarm. Upon arrival, officers located a broken front window.
Corn flakes dumped on car: At 8:38 a.m. in the 33000 block of 38th Avenue Southwest, the reporting party said that sometime early in the morning, someone dumped corn flakes on the hood of his parked vehicle. The reporting party did not witness anyone damage his car, nor did he have video of the incident. The reporting party suspects his neighbor may be responsible, but he has no proof to substantiate his claim. The neighbor left a note on his vehicle last week asking him not to park in front of his house. The reporting party declined to pursue the matter further, but demanded that his report be documented. An officer advised the reporting party to get cameras.
Pokémon cards stolen: At 3:15 a.m. in the 1900 block of South Commons, a theft occurred at the Commons Mall. Two plumbers had access to the area where the theft occurred for approximately one hour without supervision. During this time, approximately $297 worth of collectible Pokémon cards were stolen from the space. The plumbers were interviewed, but no useful information could be gathered. No CCTV footage was available of the theft. The case is inactive pending further leads.
Stolen meat: At 4:45 p.m. in the 1600 block of South 344th Street, the manager of a store said that two Pacific Islander females shoplifted $1,300 worth of meat. An employee at the location described the getaway vehicle as a blue sedan. The case is active and pending further investigation.
Person slumped over after crash: At 5:32 p.m. in the 33000 block of 19th Lane South, officers responded to a report of a vehicle collision involving an adult female who was described as “slumped over.” Officers determined the female was in physical control of the vehicle while under the influence of drugs.
Children living in a vehicle: At 10:20 p.m. on 21st Avenue Southwest, officers contacted a subject in a vehicle with two children. Upon further investigation, it was revealed that they had been living out of the vehicle for the past two weeks, and the living conditions were poor.

There was one vehicle theft reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
Two people with gunshot wounds: At 12:08 a.m. in the 2900 block of Norpoint Way Northeast, an officer observed a Tacoma police officer stop in the roadway for a vehicle that may have been involved in a recent shooting accident. Upon assisting the officers, two subjects were found with gunshot wounds.
Scammed out of $6,000: At 8:34 a.m. in the 30000 block of First Avenue South, the reporting party stated that he had been scammed out of approximately $6,000. No suspect information. The case is inactive.
Pregnant woman: At 3:18 p.m. in the 1500 block of 54th Avenue East, Federal Way police responded to the Poodle Dog Restaurant in Fife to meet with Tacoma police officers who had a woman in custody with Federal Way warrants. The woman was visibly pregnant, but when she was tested for drugs at SCORE jail, there was meth and fentanyl in her system. Because of her pregnancy and drugs in her system, the woman was rejected from SCORE jail and released from custody to the hospital.
Juvenile robbed: At 10:05 p.m. in the 1900 block of South Commons, a juvenile male reported being robbed at the Commons Mall by a Black teenage male he had just met. The suspect pulled a gun out and pointed it at the victim’s face, and demanded that the victim give him his property or he would be shot. The victim stated that he did not care about the incident due to not being scared and was only reporting it because he thought it was the right thing to do. Due to the lack of victim cooperation, the case will be inactive pending further cooperation from the victim.

There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
Person found ammunition: At 2:42 p.m. at South 328th Street and First Avenue South, the reporting party advised he located two rounds of 40mm ammunition while on a walk. He noted the ammo appeared overnight. An officer collected the ammo from the reporting party, who said he handled it without gloves. The officer checked the area to make sure there were no victims. The ammo was booked into evidence.

There was one vehicle theft reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.
Tires stolen: At 4:02 a.m. on South 320th Street, the reporting party said that he had all four tires stolen from his vehicle. The reporting party estimated that it would cost over $1,000 to replace all four tires. No CCTV was located or suspect information. The case is inactive.
Feb. 1
There was one vehicle theft reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
Neighbors fighting: At 4:46 p.m. on 35th Avenue Southwest, an officer responded to an assault between neighbors. Through investigation, no probable cause was established for either party. One subject suffered minor injuries and was cleared by fire personnel.
Feb. 2
There were two vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
Copper wire stolen: At 9:07 a.m. on 23rd Avenue South, the Washington State Department of Transportation reported that 400 feet of copper wire was stolen from an electricity box. Damage to wired fences was also reported. $5,000 in theft was reported, and $2,500 in damage. No suspect information at this time.
Embezzlement claim: At 1:56 p.m. on Southwest Campus Drive, someone reported that they believed embezzlement had occurred within a children’s sports league, but could not prove the claims. The case is inactive, and leads are exhausted.
Fight: At 9:56 p.m. on Pacific Highway South, officers responded to a fight. The involved male was arrested for assault and violating a no-contact order.
Mutual combat: At 11:56 p.m. in the 29000 block of Pacific Highway South, the reporting party explained that during an argument, they challenged the other party to mutual combat. The other party then claimed they would stab the reporting party if they came after him. The reporting party then claimed officers were compelled to officiate his right to mutual combat. The reporting party later sent an officer a text message claiming there would be a fight at 3 p.m. Feb. 3. The officer advised the reporting party to seek legal counsel regarding mutual combat prior to taking any action.
