Aug. 6

There was one vehicle theft reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Pellet gun shot car: At 8:55 a.m. in the 2100 block of Southwest 356th Street, there was a report by a person who believed their vehicle was hit by a pellet gun while they were driving. The vehicle was damaged, including a broken rear window and dents from the projectiles. No suspect information.

Aug. 7

There was one vehicle theft reported, and two vehicles were recovered on this day.

Counterfeit bills: At 9:16 p.m. in the 32000 block of Pacific Highway South, there was a report that a woman in her 50s attempted to make a purchase with a counterfeit $100 bill. The manager took the bill and called the police. When police arrived, the female was gone. She was described as an older woman with light brown hair wearing a black sweater.

Aug. 8

There was one vehicle theft reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Stopped in the roadway: At 3:53 a.m. in the 32000 block of Pacific Highway South, there was a report that officers observed a vehicle stopped in the roadway. The driver was passed out behind the wheel. The driver was detained without incident. The driver was determined to be under the influence of cannabis and was placed under arrest. The driver was later released from the hospital.

Commercial burglary: At 8:36 a.m. in the 35000 block of Enchanted Parkway South, there was a report of a commercial burglary.

Gun pointing: At 11:48 a.m. in the 36000 block of Pacific Highway South, there was a report that a motorist had a gun pointed at them by a stranger.

Fatal motorcycle crash: At 12:40 p.m. in the 34000 block of 21st Avenue Southwest, there was a report that a motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed when he swerved to avoid colliding with a vehicle. He tried to go between a vehicle in the right curb lane and the curb. He ended up going onto the sidewalk and collided with two trees. The rider was pronounced deceased after life-saving measures failed.

60-foot tree falling: At 4:14 p.m. in the 30000 block of 4th Avenue Southwest, there was a report that a tree about 60 feet in length had fallen from the backyard onto a house.

Death threat: At 7:57 p.m. in the 33000 block of 25th Place Southwest, there was a report from a victim who said that the suspect threatened to shoot and kill him. There is probable cause for felony harassment, but the suspect still has not been fully identified.

Aug. 9

There were two vehicle thefts reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

Residential burglary: At 10:10 a.m. in the 1900 block of Southwest Campus Drive, there was a report of a residential burglary.

Male exposing himself: At 1:35 p.m. on 32nd Avenue Southwest, there was a report from a female who said that a male was exposing himself in her backyard. The victim had video evidence of the crime and was deeply offended by the act. Probable cause was developed for a male suspect. The suspect was located and taken into custody.

Aug. 10

There were two vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Commercial burglary: At 7:18 a.m. in the 2000 block of Southwest 356th Street, there was a report of a commercial burglary.

Man drinking at McDonald’s: At 8:28 a.m. in the 2300 block of South 320th Street, there was a report that officers responded to a McDonald’s and contacted a male who was drinking alcohol and disrupting the checkout line by standing in the way of customers. Employees asked the male to leave before calling the police. Officers told the male to leave, and he did not comply after many chances. The male was taken into custody and booked into SCORE jail.

Collision and suspected impairment: At 10:55 p.m. on 20th Avenue South and South 330th Street, there was an anonymous report of what sounded like a collision and screaming: A subject was located at a recently crashed vehicle. The person showed indicators of alcohol impairment, but refused field sobriety testing and was placed under arrest. The subject provided a breath test and was booked into jail.

Aug. 11

There was one vehicle theft reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

Animal cruelty report: At 2:22 p.m. on South 27th Place, there was a report of animal cruelty.

Assault with a firearm: At 7:43 p.m. on South 276th Street and Pacific Highway South, there was a report of an assault with a firearm.

Juveniles break window with chair: At 8:09 p.m. on South 320th Street, an officer responded to a report of a fight between three juveniles. When the officer arrived on scene, the reporting party stated that all involved subjects had left and possibly walked toward the transit center. The reporting party stated that during the fight, one of the subjects threw a chair that broke a window, causing about $1,000 in damage. Video of the juveniles was obtained, but all three were wearing ski masks.

Residential burglary: At 4:44 p.m. on Southwest 329th Way, there was a report of a residential burglary.
