July 23

There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Family home on fire: At 3:24 a.m. in the 31000 block of 13th Avenue South, there was a report that an officer was dispatched to an assisted living family home that was on fire.

Pounding on the door: At 11:40 a.m. in the 2500 block of South 286th Place, there was a report that the victim heard a pounding noise at his door, opened the door and saw the person of interest walking away with a knife and went back into her apartment. The victim said that he needed to file for liability reasons and did not want to pursue anything further.

Ballistic vest stolen: At 11 a.m. in the 32000 block of Military Road South, there was a report that a local resident called to report that his vehicle was broken into and an issued military grade ballistic vest was stolen from his vehicle. Damage to the rear driver’s side window was done to gain entry. Equipment valued at about $1,500. No suspect information or surveillance video.

Fireworks burn bushes: At 3:42 p.m. in the 2000 block of Southwest 318th Place, there was a report that four unknown juveniles were seen running away after a firework was lit. The firework lit a bush on fire and spread to nearby bushes. The fire department came and extinguished the fire.

Burglary: At 3:53 p.m. in the 34000 block of 19th Place Southwest, there was a report of a residential burglary. Officers established probable cause and took one adult male into custody.

Suspect assaults officer: At 8:23 p.m. in the 27000 block of Pacific Highway South, there was a report that a suspect fled from officers and was located and arrested with the assistance of a Kent Police Department K9 unit and Guardian One. Once the suspect was arrested, the suspect assaulted a Federal Way police officer.

July 24

There were two vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Scammed for Morgan Wallen tickets: At 9:54 a.m. in the 500 block of Southwest 328th Court, there was a report that a victim was scammed out of $259 for Morgan Wallen concert tickets online. The victim met an unknown suspect online in a group chat who claimed he had extra tickets. The suspect stated he was in Bellingham and agreed to meet in Marysville. The suspect did not show up and gave excuses. He emailed her the tickets as she did not believe him. She sent the money after seeing the tickets. The tickets turned out to be fake. No suspect identified.

Firearm lost in water: At 1:55 p.m. in the 2400 block of South 312th Street, there was a report that a citizen called in to report that he lost his firearm in Steel Lake. The reporting party advises that he was paddleboarding on Steel Lake and lost his firearm in the water. Report for documentation.

July 25

There was one vehicle theft reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

Business window broken: At 10:21 a.m. in the 33000 block of 13th Place South, there was a report that officers were dispatched to a not-for-profit business where a client had intentionally damaged the business’s window and fled on foot. The suspect was located and booked into SCORE jail.

Drive-by shooting: At 1:02 p.m. on Pacific Highway South and South 312th Street, there was a report that officers responded to a drive-by shooting. Upon investigation, probable cause was established for second-degree assault. The suspect’s vehicle was not located, and no license plate could be discovered for the vehicle.

July 26

There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Shots fired: At 8:07 a.m. in the 900 block of Southwest 363rd Place, there was a report that shots were fired with no injuries.

Gun shot in the air: At 8:40 p.m. in the 20 block of South 341st Place, there was a report that a woman called the police to report that she had fired her gun in the air to scare off her ex-husband. After sorting out conflicting locations of where this had happened, officers discovered a confirmed no-contact order between her and her ex. The ex was not found. The woman’s firearm was taken pending possible charges.

Assault with a firearm: At 9:03 p.m. in the 27000 block of Pacific Highway South, there was a report of an assault with a firearm.

July 27

There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Car continues eluding: At 5:37 a.m. in the 1600 block of South 312th Street, there was a report that an officer observed a recklessly driven vehicle. The vehicle eluded an attempted traffic stop. The vehicle continued to drive recklessly throughout Federal Way for about 30 minutes. Multiple stops were attempted, but none were successful. The vehicle was not located after an extensive search. The registered owner of the vehicle had an identical twin brother. Suspect’s identity unknown.

Soccer leads to a fight: At 1:56 p.m. at the Decatur High School soccer field, officers arrived on scene, and witnesses stated that the fight broke out after a disagreement with the referee. None of the involved parties wanted to press charges. No probable cause for a crime was developed.

Exposing genitalia: At 5:48 p.m. in the 28000 block of 18th Avenue South, there was a report that a male was exposing his genitalia outside of the victim’s apartment. The victim felt uncomfortable with the male’s behavior. The male was located, and he resisted arrest, but was ultimately arrested for obstructing and indecent exposure and booked into SCORE jail.

July 28

There was one vehicle theft reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Scammed out of $25,000: At 2:09 p.m. on Southwest 331st Place, there was a report that a local resident reported that they were a victim of fraud. The suspect tricked the victim into believing the victim was depositing money into a day trading account. The amount stolen was $25,000.

Knife robbery: At 2:54 p.m. on South 324th Place, there was a report that someone reported a recent robbery. Reported as a robbery with a knife.
