1 dead, 2 injured in three-vehicle crash in Federal Way

Police are investigating a fatal crash involving multiple vehicles that has shut down Pacific Highway South in Federal Way on Monday morning.

Police and South King Fire and Rescue were dispatched to the collision at 9:26 a.m. in the 37300 block of Pacific Highway S. One person died in the collision, police said, and two other people and a puppy were extricated from the vehicles and transported to local hospitals, according to South King Fire.

Federal Way police Cmdr. Kurt Schwan stated police have not yet determined what caused the collision, which involved a semi-trailer truck, a sedan and a small SUV.

The roadway is completely blocked, has been shut down, and will remain closed for an extended period of time, Schwan said on Monday morning.
