Federal agencies to offer $5,000 reward for information on Federal Way firearms theft

A $5,000 reward is being offered for information that helps catch four suspects who recently stole 31 firearms from a Federal Way business.

Federal Way police responded to a burglary alarm at Federal Way Indoor Range LLC, 1401 S. 324th St., early on Jan. 28. According to police spokeswoman Cathy Schrock, officers saw a door to the break room had been shattered. Auburn K9 arrived, and the building was cleared.

A representative for The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, which took over the investigation on Jan. 30, indicated four masked burglars were caught on the store’s security cameras.

Schrock said the suspects entered the business and went directly to the weapons in the glass case near the indoor range to steal handguns and rifles.

The ATF and the National Shooting Sports Foundation, a trade association for the firearms industry, are offering the reward as part of a larger national cooperative initiative.

Anyone with information about this crime should contact ATF at 1800-ATFGUNS (800-283-4867) or ATFTips@atf.gov or www.atf.gov/contact/atftips. ATF officials state all tips will be kept confidential.
