From staff reports:

More than 70 Federal Way volunteers joined together Sept. 24 to collect nearly 9,000 pounds of donated food for the hungry. The annual Mayor’s Day of Concern food drive collected food for the Multi-Service Center’s Federal Way Food Bank and the Emergency Feeding Program of Seattle-King County.

Volunteers accepted donations at six participating grocery stores: Fred Meyer (Twin Lakes), Albertson’s, Safeway (S. 320th location), Top Foods, and both Wal-Mart locations (S. 314th and S. 348th).

Shoppers also donated over $500 in cash to support the Federal Way Food Bank operated by the Multi-Service Center, one of the largest food banks in South King County. To donate, visit www.multi-servicecenter.com.
