Published 10:00 am Sunday, May 22, 2016
Enjoy some after hour networking while walking through the past at the Historical Society of Federal Way from 5-7 p.m. on May 25.
Refreshments will be served and two exhibits will be featured: Jackson Street After Hours and Logging History in Federal Way.
Jackson Street After Hours, by Paul DeBarros, chronicles the early jazz history in Seattle. Quincy Jones, Ray Charles, and Ernestine Anderson are just a few of the famous musicians we now know today that called Seattle home to their unique style of music.
Logging History in Federal Way documents the vast inventory of timber that drew many small logging companies to operate in the Federal Way area for decades. Logging trains in Federal Way? Yes – and so much more. The exhibit focuses on a few families that were an integral part of logging in Federal Way, as well as the methods that were used during those times.
Registration is available at federalwaychamber.com.
