Next Federal Way recycling event Sept. 17

The city of Federal Way’s next free recycling event is Saturday, Sept. 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the main parking lot of Wild Waves (36893 Milton Road South, Federal Way).

Residents can bring in a variety of items that are not collected at the curb or are banned from disposal. Items accepted include appliances and scrap metal, mattresses, tires, confidential documents for shredding, electronics, styrofoam blocks, batteries and more.

Nonprofit organizations will also collect items for reuse: Bikes for Kids will accept used bicycles and bike parts, South King Tool Library will accept new or gently used tools and Goodwill will collect clothing and reusable household goods.
