A flyer mailed out on behalf of Mark Miloscia erroneously said South King Fire and Rescue endorsed the newly-turned Republican state Senate candidate.

“Sometimes mistakes like these happen,” said Keith Schipper, Miloscia’s campaign manager.

The error occurred when a fire board of commissioners member, Bill Gates, was added to the list as an endorser of Miloscia. South King Fire and Rescue’s name then accidentally was added.

The error was brought to the campaign’s attention by South King Fire and Rescue’s legislative director, whom they apologized to, Schipper said. Other than the legislative director questioning the endorsement, no one else was upset, to Schipper’s knowledge.

“No one got feisty with us about it,” he said.

The formatting of the “South King Fire and Rescue” was different from the rest of the flyer text, clearly suggesting it was an error, he said.

“We’re moving on,” Schipper said. “We’re moving toward the general election.”

South King Fire and Rescue as an entity is not eligible to endorse candidates. The group of union workers who do endorse candidates have given Democrat Shari Song their vote.
