Last-minute message to voters from Miloscia | Letter

I wanted to take a minute to speak with you, in between the last minute sign waving, as we head into the final stretch of the campaign.
First, I want to express my gratitude and appreciation for the privilege you have given to me by electing me to represent your interests in Olympia for so long. I am truly blessed. I owe everything I have to my wife, Meschell, our three kids, Scott, Brian, and Elizabeth, and our six grandchildren for supporting my campaigns for office. Without my family, I am nothing.
As you fill out your ballots, please remember the great things we have all accomplished, such as holding government more accountable, taking care of the less fortunate, cutting red tape for our struggling local businesses, passing a bill to cut homelessness by 50 percent, leading on ending domestic violence, and addressing affordable housing.
I believe the final two weeks in any campaign, a candidate’s true nature emerges. Some candidates, when desperate and close to election time, start slinging mud and make unbelievable political and personal attacks. My opponent will have you believe I am some sort of bogeyman, but I trust that you know better.
I have never been a part of such a negative campaign, and I refuse to play that game. By nature, I always have a positive outlook on life. I believe our future is bright and I look forward to being a solution to Olympia’s issues, not a part of the problem.
I ask, do you want someone representing you who believes there are bad guys and good guys in Olympia, or do you want a leader who has support from across the political spectrum and works to find common ground between political adversaries in order to do good by all citizens of our state?
Regardless of this election’s outcome, it has been an honor to be your advocate. I pray that after the dust settles on Nov. 4, and a winner is declared, we can get to work on uniting Democrats and Republicans in our state capital to come up with bipartisan solutions to fully fund education, meeting the needs of our most vulnerable, and putting our unemployed friends and family back to work. I would appreciate your vote.
Mark Miloscia, candidate
