Teen commits hit-and-run, returns to scene | Federal Way crime blotter

Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:

• Hit and run teenager: At 7:34 p.m. Jan. 8 in the 32500 block of 21st Avenue Southwest, a woman reported being the victim of a hit-and-run. The suspect returned to the scene 20 minutes later and admitted to the crime. He is 15 and was driving without a license or identification.

• Ex steals dog: At 6:18 p.m. Jan. 6 in the 31000 block of 1st Place Southwest, a man reported his ex-girlfriend stole his dog.

• Employee takes a cut: At 4:39 p.m. Jan. 6 at 1911 S. 320th St., it was reported that a suspect stole more than $6,000 over a 10-month period by taking some of the cash presented during customer transactions at a restaurant.

• Found child: At 9:12 a.m. Jan. 6 at 31009 Pacific Highway S., police were flagged down by a woman who reported finding a child in a grocer’s parking lot. Police took custody of the child and returned him home.

• Stolen wheels: At 12:21 a.m. Jan. 6 in the 2600 block of South 276th Street, an unknown suspect used bricks and a jack to suspend a vehicle and steal its wheels.

• Assault: At 11:31 p.m. Jan. 7 in the 28600 block of 25th Place S., a woman reported that, while leaving her residence, a male suspect grabbed her hair and said he would be back to shoot her house up. She did not know the man.

• Loitering leads to arrest: At 11:41 p.m. Jan. 7 in the 28800 block of Pacific Highway South, a woman was arrested and booked on a warrant after police contacted her for loitering in an area known to be popular among prostitutes.

• Illegal dumping: At 4:39 p.m. Jan. 7 in the 1400 block of South 320th Street, a suspect dumped five bags of garbage in a business’s trash. The suspect chose to face punishment rather than return and retrieve the trash.

• Robbery: At 4:27 p.m. Jan. 7 near 35th Avenue Southwest, a female was walking with a friend when suspects approached her and asked if she wanted to buy drugs. When she said no, the suspects stole her phone and iPod.

• Recovered bicycle: At 1:43 p.m. Jan. 7 in the 33100 block of 10th Place Southwest, a man found a bicycle in his yard. He brought it to police for safekeeping.
