Mirror staff reports:
Sound Transit will add one morning peak hour trip for one of the busiest bus routes from Federal Way to Seattle.
Starting in June, ST Express Route 577 will feature one additional morning trip to Seattle. City officials have expressed concerns about overcrowded buses, especially the ST Express Route 577. Commuters fill those buses at peak morning times, standing in line before sunrise, often waiting through one or two boardings before scoring a seat.
At the Sound Transit board meeting March 22, board member and King County Councilman Pete von Reichbauer expressed his appreciation to Federal Way leaders for encouraging the need for more bus service during busy commutes from Federal Way to Seattle.
“I appreciate Sound Transit’s response to my request that we try to better meet the needs of the riders in Federal Way, and the work to make efficiencies in the bus system and reallocate resources to where they are most needed,” said von Reichbauer to the Sound Transit board. “I especially want to thank Federal Way City Councilmember Jeanne Burbidge who has worked tirelessly on this and other regional transit issues.”
