Young woman dies of heroin overdose: At 10:04 a.m. on Feb. 1 in the 2600 block of SW 347th Place, an 18-year-old girl was found dead from a heroin overdose. The mother’s domestic partner told police the teen had a history of heroin use and has been in and out of treatment for it. She had one prior incident of overdose where she had to be revived by CPR. The teen was last seen walking into her bedroom the night before at around 10:30 p.m. At around 8:41 a.m., the mother’s partner noticed her bedroom light still on and went in to check on her. Her mother’s partner opened the door and saw the girl face down on the ground, unresponsive and cold to the touch. She awoke the girl’s mother and called 911. Police found drug paraphernalia next to the 18-year-old and has ruled her death an overdose. The girl’s mother told police the two had an argument about her drug use the night before her death and the teen had “finally admitted she needed to return to rehab for her heroin addiction.”

Pizza restaurant’s window damaged: At 11:11 a.m. on Feb. 1 at 34817 Enchanted Parkway S., an unknown subject damaged a large window on the east side of The Rock Wood Fired Pizza. Employees noted it appeared the window was shot out with a BB gun. The window is estimated to cost $5,500 to replace. This wasn’t the first time the restaurant had sustained window damage, employees told police. The first damaged window occurred a few weeks ago. Police have no suspects or witnesses at this time.

Man believes he’s reincarnation of grandfather: At 2:57 p.m. on Feb. 1 in the 1900 block of SW Campus Drive, a witness reported seeing a man sitting on a couch rambling about how he is the reincarnation of his deceased grandfather. In front of police officers, he said he wanted to kill himself but didn’t say why. One witness said he was on drugs but didn’t state which type. And another witness, who called 911, said the first witness hadn’t slept for three days and was acting aggressive towards him and that he was also making suicidal comments. He also said he was recovering from meth addiction and grieving the loss of his grandmother’s recent death. Police committed the man, involuntarily.

Woman found dead: At 3:17 p.m. on Feb. 1 in the 2300 block of SW 339th St., a woman found her 74-year-old mother-in-law pale and unresponsive and immediately called 911. The woman suffered from heart problems, COPD and blood clots. She was receiving hospice care and was under direct medical care of a doctor. King County medic’s stopped CPR and pronounced her deceased at the scene.

Pit bull found: At 7:06 p.m. on Feb. 1 in the 2100 block of SW 356th St., a stray pit bull was located by a police officer, who noted the dog didn’t have a collar or tags. The dog was transported to the police department and is being housed in a kennel in the garage. Animal Control was also called.

Angry Seahawks fan fires gun: At 8:22 p.m. on Feb. 1 in the 30500 block of Sixth Place SW, a 26-year-old man was arrested for discharging a handgun and driving under the influence. Police were dispatched to the shooting after a person reported an an “angry” person shooting a gun out of a sunroof of a white Lexus. Police found the man driving east on Southwest 312th Street.  The officer followed the man, who began swerving and nearly side-swiped a vehicle. As they arrested him, police saw a black handgun on the floor of his passenger’s seat. While police were transporting him to the police department, he made the unprovoked comment, “None of this would have happened if the Seahawks would have won,” referring to them losing the Super Bowl.

Elderly man committed: At 9:29 p.m. on Feb. 1 in the 100 block of S. 336th St., a 74-year-old man was involuntarily committed after a witness saw the man on top of another 88-year-old man, pushing on his head. The man then tried to swing two walking signs at employees, who did not sustain injuries. When asked, the victim did not remember the incident. The man is believed to have dementia.

Officers take over CPR: At 10:05 p.m. on Feb. 1 in the 1000 block of S. 308th St., police arrived to the scene of a woman receiving CPR. Officers took over after they observed staff performing ineffective CPR. The automated external defibrillator was activated but it did not advise a shock be distributed. Officers did CPR until South King Fire and Rescue arrived and took over. Firefighters later told police the female patient’s vitals were good as she arrived at an Auburn hospital.

Man’s house burglarized: At 8:06 p.m. on Feb. 1 in the 30800 block of 21st Ave. SW, a 32-year-old man reported his house had been burglarized. He told police between 3:30-8 p.m. that day, an unknown suspect broke into his house by smashing out a rear bedroom window, entered his house and stole a laptop, iPad and miscellaneous jewelry.

Man arrested for kicking holes in walls: At 10:39 p.m. on Feb. 1 in the 1800 block of S. 281st Place, neighbors called police after hearing a loud argument. When police arrived, they arrested a man for kicking and punching many holes in the walls. He also broke a door at the residence of his mother and girlfriend and in the presence of a young child.

Homeless man hurts girlfriend: At 2:37 a.m. on Jan. 31 in the 27200 block of Pacific Highway S., a 47-year-old man was cited for fourth-degree assault after his 50-year-old girlfriend called police. The woman called 911 from an ARCO gas station, stating she and her boyfriend were homeless and had been “drinking a lot.” She said she went to sleep in a wooded area where they set up some cardboard boxes. The next thing she knew, she was being woken up by her boyfriend who was grabbing her by the shoulders and dragging her. She was dragged through the dirt and sticker bushes causing her pain. She said he yelled at her and called her a name. She’s not sure what prompted the outburst, as they didn’t have an argument before going to sleep. Police could not locate the man but the woman agreed to press charges against him.

Purse stolen and cheek slashed: At 5:25 a.m. on Jan. 31 in the 1300 block of S. 308th St., a victim was walking down a street when an unknown suspect approached them from behind and slashed the victim’s right cheek with a supposed razor blade. The victim’s purse was stolen and the suspect ran west on South 308th Street toward Eighth Avenue South. Police have no leads at this time.

Man suspected of being high committed: At 8:19 a.m. on Jan. 31 in the 34500 block of Ninth Ave. S., a man was involuntarily committed after  his brother-in-law reported he was high on an unknown substance. The brother-in-law stated he was unresponsive to questioning or commands. Family members also told police they were afraid he was in possession of suspected meth.

Autistic boy threatens caregiver: At 12:25 p.m. on Jan. 31 in the 29600 block of 21st Ave. S., a caregiver for a 15-year-old autistic boy called police because the boy had allegedly said in a tantrum that he was going to kill the caregiver. The caregiver only cares for the boy while his mother is working. But she said she had no fear that he would carry out his threat or that he had a plan to kill her so police determined no crime occurred.

Suicidal woman asks for help: At 4:09 p.m. on Jan. 31 in the 2600 block of S. 287th St., a woman called police to tell them she wanted to kill herself and that she tried to that day by hitting a parked vehicle in Seattle. She told the dispatcher she tried to shoot herself less than a year ago in Seattle and has “cooked up” ways to kill herself on the Internet. Police were sent to help.

Trespasser arrested at The Commons mall: At 5:02 p.m. on Jan. 31 in the 1900 block of S. Commons, a 24-year-old man was arrested for trespassing Game Stop and possession of drug paraphernalia. A Game Stop manager called police because the man was attempting to make a fraudulent return. When police arrived, they arrested him for trespassing and he consented to a search. During the search, they found folded up foil in his wallet, small zip-lock bags and a piece of straw connected to a pipe. The straw had a melted tip with brown residue on the inside.

Ex-boyfriend threatens harm in text: At 8:46 a.m. on Jan. 30 in the 1400 block of S. 348th St., a woman called police to report she had received harassing, threatening and vulgar text messages from her ex-boyfriend while she was working in Federal Way. After many texts, he implied he knew where she lived, worked and attended school and “with a head nod, he could have some kind of assaultive actions upon her.” She believes they are hallow and unobtainable but desired a police report.

Woman said couple tried to rape her: At 11:22 a.m. on Jan. 30 in the 1000 block of S. 308th St., a female made allegations of attempted rape on the evening of Jan. 29 between 9-10 p.m. She said a heavy set female and male attempted to rape her but she “screamed and scared them off.”

Involuntary commitment: At 10: 21 p.m. on Jan. 30 in the 2900 block of SW 312th Place, a 26-year-old man was involuntarily committed because he told police he wanted to kill himself. He admitted to consuming a lot of alcohol and referenced the alcohol as why he hurt himself. He had a small laceration on his right forehead, which his father said stemmed from him breaking a vase  against his head and then trying to cut his throat with a piece of the broken glass.
