April 20

• There was one vehicle theft reported, and one stolen vehicle recovered on this day.

• Abandoned vehicles: At 8:37 a.m. in the 30000 block of 16th Avenue SW, officers were dispatched to a parking complaint by an anonymous neighbor about 10-plus vehicles parked with expired registration, flat tires an appearing abandoned. Officer located seven vehicles that were expired. Three vehicles were expired in late 2025 that received impound warning stickers. Four vehicles were well expired over the 45-day limit in 2016, 2023, 2024 and 2025 that were impounded. Officers were thanked by multiple bus drivers who stated that the parked vehicles made it hard for them to navigate the road to pick up and deliver young students.

• Neglected children: At 11 a.m. on 28th Place South, officers were dispatched to a report of a Child Protective Services referral in which a mother was reportedly neglecting her three children. Officers did not develop probable cause to take the children into protective custody, but did locate a subject with a warrant inside the residence who was the uncle of the three children. He had warrants out for assault and domestic violence charges. He was booked into SCORE jail. The three children were transported back to the police station and were later picked up by a relative.

• Vehicle hits dog: At 7 p.m. in the 1700 block of South 305th Place, an officer took a report that vehicle had collided with a dog that was running loose in a parking lot. The driver, who did not match the description of the registered owner of the vehicle, left the scene. The dog is an 11-month-old pitbull mix named Ellie. The dog had non-life-threatening injuries that were treated by a veterinarian. Both back legs were scraped up and her abdomen had some scratches on it. The dog had some bruises, but no stitches were required. Case forwarded to animal services for review.

April 21

• There were no vehicle thefts reported, and one stolen vehicle recovered on this day.

• Commercial burglary: At 7:53 a.m. in the 2400 block of South 312th Street, officers were dispatched to a commercial burglary report. It was determined that unknown suspects had cut a hole in the fence of the parks and recreation lot located at Steel Lake Park. The suspects then drilled a hole into the fuel tank of a company vehicle in an apparent attempt to steal gasoline. No suspects were visible or identifiable in surveillance footage.

• Child abuse report: Officers were dispatched to an elementary school for a report of child abuse. Officers conducted an investigation and developed probable cause to believe the suspect had committed assault of a child in the second degree. All children associated with the suspect were either taken into protective custody by CPS or released to the care of an alternate parent or legal guardian. These caregivers were explicitly advised not to return the children to the suspect’s residence. Officers attempted to arrest the suspect at her listed residence, but she was not present.

• Lewd conduct: At 3:45 p.m. in the 2000 block of South 320th Street, officers responded to a report of lewd conduct and arrested a male for indecent exposure.

• Stranger grabs child’s arm: At 5:29 p.m. in the 32000 block of Pacific Highway South, a woman reported that she was approached by a Hispanic male in his 20s wearing a dark jacket and jeans who attempted to grab her child’s arm, then made provocative gestures toward her and comments about killing. This male then entered the Teso Life store and stole one pack of instant noodles. Surveillance footage of the suspect was obtained. The suspect has yet to be identified.

April 22

• There were two vehicle thefts reported on this date and no stolen vehicles recovered.

• Fake landlord: At 8:37 a.m., a person reported that they were searching for apartments on Facebook Marketplace. The person reached out to a landlord wanting to rent a room and paid a total of $1,425 for a deposit on the room. The victim never received the keys and the suspect is no longer answering.

• Naked man at the park: At 3:12 p.m. in the 1500 block of SW 327th Street, officers were dispatched to a park near an elementary school over reports of a fully nude white male. Officers located the male subject wandering around a wooded area near the park, fully nude. Officers confirmed the male had a felony Department of Corrections warrant for parole violation. DOC took custody of the male.

• Armed robbery: At 7:40 p.m. in the 32000 block of Military Road South, officers responded to an armed robbery at a gas station. The suspect was gone and attempts to locate the suspect were unsuccessful. Fingerprints and DNA were collected at the scene.

April 23

• There were two stolen vehicles recovered and one vehicle reported stolen on this date.

• Student with a firearm: At 3:17 p.m. in the 31400 block of 28th Avenue South, a school resource officer reported that a Truman student on probation for firearm offenses was observed in a video on Instagram with an apparent firearm. Officers performed a visual inspection of the vehicle the student arrived in and observed firearm accessories inside. Video footage showed the student entering the campus with a heavy bulge in the front of his person. The student was contacted and a loaded firearm was found on his person. The vehicle was seized for a search warrant and the student was booked into King County youth jail.

• Harassing students: At 5:42 p.m. teacher called from a local high school to report a student had informed him that she and her sister were being harassed by a male at their apartment complex who was soliciting sex. The teacher only felt comfortable providing a phone number for the student’s grandmother and did not disclose the student’s name.

April 24

• No vehicle thefts or recovered vehicles reported on this date.

• Threatening police: At 10:56 a.m. in the 27000 block of Pacific Highway South, officers were dispatched to a physical domestic violence disturbance in progress. The male suspect was taken into custody for assault. The victim declined to cooperate or provide a statement. During transport and while at the jail, the man made multiple unsolicited statements to the effect that he intended to kill Federal Way law enforcement officers due to his arrest and that he would be “ready for war” upon release.

• Mystery motorcycle: At 3:53 p.m. on South 356th Street, a victim was traveling west and signaled to turn onto 2nd Avenue South. A motorcycle traveling in the opposite direction swerved toward the vehicle, and the rider used his hand to smash the driver’s side rearview mirror. The victim reports no negative interaction with the cyclist prior. Shards of the mirror flew into the victim’s arm and caused a small cut, but he was otherwise uninjured. The motorcycle was black and the rider had a red helmet. No suspect information available.

April 25

• One vehicle theft was reported on this date.

• Slumped over the wheel: At 1 a.m. in the Commons Mall parking lot, officers responded to a welfare check for a male who was slumped over the wheel of a running vehicle. Investigation revealed probable cause for physical control. A blood warrant was drafted and a blood draw was conducted at the hospital. The suspect was booked into SCORE jail.

• Throwing water: At 3:11 p.m. at the Federal Way Transit Center, an officer who was working at the location was approached by two females who said a male subject had thrown water on them. Officers contacted the male and took him into custody.

April 26

• No thefts reported on this date.

• Woman in the road: At 2:29 p.m. on Military Road South, an officer arrived on the scene with a woman who was in the middle of a busy road. She stated she hadn’t eaten or drank anything for the past three days. A witness stated the woman had dumped out a shopping cart full of trash into the middle of the road. The woman appeared to be suffering from a mental disorder due to her erratic movements and continuously talking about random subjects. A meth pipe was found in her pocket. She told the officer she was out of drugs and was coming down from recent drug usage. She was taken to a hospital for involuntary treatment.

April 27

• One vehicle theft reported on this date.

• Dad’s foot: At 3:45 p.m. on 14th Avenue SW, officers arrived to a fire station where a juvenile disclosed that she had walked there after a domestic dispute at her home. The juvenile said she was kicked by her father, and said there were no marks, bruises, injuries or pain. Officers went to the residence and spoke with the father, who said he did not kick the juvenile, but rather pushed her with his foot to get her to go to her room. Officers verified no crime had been committed and the juvenile returned home.

• Trespassed at mall: At 3:55 p.m. at the Commons Mall, it was reported that an adult male was touching a little girl in the children’s play area of the food court. The subject was detained for investigation, but no probable cause was discovered. The subject was trespassed and released.

• Damaged windows: At 5:28 p.m. on South 348th Street, officers were dispatched to Super Chix for a malicious mischief report. A while male in his 40s damaged multiple windows at the restaurant. The male was arrested later and booked into SCORE jail.
