Woman hit by car near FW Transit Center dies

A 59-year-old woman who was walking in the street died after being hit by a car in Federal Way.
According to the Federal Way Police Department (FWPD), at approximately 7:19 a.m. April 4 in the 2200 block of South 320th Street, near the Federal Way Transit Center, a 59-year-old woman was heading south to north, not in a crosswalk, and she was hit by a car heading eastbound. According to the FWPD, the woman suffered major head trauma and was transported to Harborview Medical Center by Medic One.
“The King County Medical Examiner called the next day and advised the pedestrian passed away early morning of April 5,” the FWPD reported.
The woman’s name has yet to be released by the King County Medical Examiner’s Office, but according to the FWPD, she was a Federal Way citizen.
The driver, who was in a Subaru Outback, stopped at the scene of the collision and attempted to help. The FWPD stated that the Subaru driver will not face any charges.
