Infant death: At 12:22 a.m. in the 2400 block of South Star Lake Road, officers responded to a CPR involving a prematurely born infant who was not breathing. Medical personnel on scene attempted life-saving measures, but the infant did not survive. The mother was taken to the hospital for evaluation, and the medical examiner officers arrived to take custody of the infant.
Speeding man: At 10:22 a.m. in the 400 block of Southwest 356th Street, a man was stopped for speeding, and he then gave officers a bad name. A fingerprint scan revealed his real name, and he had warrants, so he was arrested.
April 1

Child Protective Services: At 10:44 a.m. in the 28000 block of 19th Place South, officers were dispatched to assist Child Protective Services at a local apartment complex.
April 2

Pit bulls bite a Chihuahua: At 12:45 p.m. in the 28000 block of 25th Place South, pit bulls charged and bit a chihuahua. An infraction was issued.
Person asleep in car: At 6:25 p.m. at Southwest 356th Street and 11th Avenue Southwest, officers responded for a welfare check on a male slumped over in a vehicle in the middle of traffic. As officers responded to the location, the reporting party advised that the male was awakened by other motorists and fled the area recklessly. The reporting party was able to follow the vehicle and observed more erratic driving. Officers located the vehicle and stopped it. The driver did not have a license, and the case was forwarded to the prosecutor’s office. The vehicle was impounded.
Water gun brandished: At 8:06 p.m., a juvenile reported that another juvenile pointed a gun at him and fled. Officers spoke to the juvenile who allegedly had a gun, and he stated that he only had a water gun and it was a prank. The family of the reporting party stated that there is an ongoing problem with the two juveniles.
April 3
There were two vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
Man running with a hatchet: At 12:46 p.m. on Pacific Highway South, police responded to a report of a suspicious subject with a hatchet running at passersby. Police were able to locate and detain the involved subject. No probable cause was established due to a lack of victim cooperation. The subject was identified and released.
Fleeing from police: At 1:20 p.m. in the 34000 block of First Circle South, a person fled from police while police were attempting to arrest him on warrants.
$800 of meat stolen: At 4 p.m. on South 344th Street, an employee at a store reported that a female entered the store, grabbed a to-go bag and stole $500 of ribeye meat, $150 of shrimp and $150 of fish. The female then fled in a car with a male.
April 4
There was one vehicle theft reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.
DUI crash: At 1:32 a.m. in the 27000 block of Pacific Highway South, officers were dispatched to an injury collision. Officers arrived on scene and established probable cause for driving under the influence for the causing driver.
Driving across lanes of travel: At 3:55 a.m. on Eighth Avenue Southwest, police responded to a complaint of a vehicle traveling across lanes and stopping in the lane. The vehicle was located nearby, and the driver and passenger were found asleep at the wheel, blocking the roadway. The driver was arrested for DUI.
Fatal collision: At 7:19 a.m. on South 320th Street, there was a report that a woman ran across the road and was struck by a vehicle. The pedestrian suffered major head trauma and was transported to Harborview Medical Center. The King County Medical Examiner called the next day and advised that the pedestrian had died.
E-bike stolen during sale: At 9:28 a.m. in the 1700 block of South Commons, a man reported that he met with another man to sell his e-bike. The victim said that the suspect then rode the bike to test drive it, and the suspect rode toward South 320th Street, but he never returned.
Pomeranian bites delivery driver: At 3:16 p.m. on Sixth Avenue Southwest, the reporting party stated that her small Pomeranian dog bit an Amazon driver. The bite caused an extremely small abrasion. The Amazon driver complained of dizziness and self-transported to the hospital.
Robbery: At 6:06 p.m. on 11th Place South, officers responded to a recent attempted armed robbery with a firearm. The suspect is outstanding at this time.
Assault on police officer: At 11:28 p.m. in the 31200 block of Pete von Reichbauer Way, an assault on a police officer was reported.
April 5
There was one vehicle theft reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
Driver crashes: At 2:42 a.m. on Southwest Dash Point Road, a vehicle struck a power line. The driver told officers that he had been drinking alcohol before the collision. The driver was medically cleared, but probable cause for DUI was established. Driver booked into jail.
Assault with a weapon: At 9:05 a.m. in the 27000 block of Pacific Highway South, there was a report of a threat with a weapon, and assault with a knife was cited.
Kicking a door: At 11:04 a.m. on South 333rd Street, the victim reported that a suspect was attempting to kick his door down with three accomplices present. All eventually left after being unsuccessful.
April 6
There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
Asleep at the intersection: At 2:42 a.m. on Hoyt Road Southwest, officers responded to a welfare check when a driver was reported slumped over in the driver’s seat of a vehicle in the intersection. Upon arriving on the scene, officers found probable cause of DUI and booked the driver into jail.
Ice cream thrower: At 2:12 p.m. in the 34500 block of 16th Avenue South, a person reported that a man threw an ice cream at his head in a Walmart parking lot. He said the suspect fled the scene in a white Dodge Challenger. The suspect could not be identified.
Leg slammed in a door: At 5:33 p.m. on Military Road South, the victim claimed that the suspect assaulted him by slamming his leg in his car door. The suspect denied assaulting the victim, but video of the incident corroborated the victim’s statement. The suspect left the scene before the video was available.
Teens hiding assault rifle bullets: At 8:39 p.m. on Southwest Campus Drive, the reporting party’s son stated that he found .223 bullets near a box. The son described two juvenile males attempting to empty ammunition boxes in a bush. Bullets and boxes collected.
