All fireworks are illegal in Federal Way

Before everyone can start enjoying and celebrating Independence Day, the Federal Way Police put out a quick reminder.

According to the Federal Way Police Department, all fireworks are illegal within the city limits of Federal Way.

Before July 4 and during the Fourth of July celebrations, Federal Way Police will be conducting special patrols throughout the city with an emphasis on firework prevention.

Anyone caught possessing or lighting off fireworks will be issued a civil infraction, and the fireworks will be confiscated, said Federal Way Police.

The penalty for any fireworks violation will be $300.
