Summer sounds at Steel Lake Park

The City of Federal Way and the Federal Way Arts Commission have your summer plans prepped.

In July, enjoy the Summer Sounds Concert Series from 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday nights at Steel Lake Park (2410 S. 312th Street).

Hot Rodster, a country band, is performing July 6. Harmonious Funk, a Top 40 band, is playing July 13. On July 20, enjoy music from the Lonely Hearts Club, a Beatles cover band. Finally, Po’okela, a reggae band, wraps up the month on July 27.

In August, enjoy Shakespeare in the Park at 7 p.m. Aug. 3. The free performance of “Cymbeline” is presented by Wooden O. The play is a modern, queer-forward view of Shakespeare’s folktale of forbidden love, mistaken identities, banishment, and reconciliation, according to the Seattle Shakespeare Company.
