Federal Way residents made the best of this past weekend’s snowstorm.

A quick appearance of snowfall in the Puget Sound resulted in a total of 12.4 inches Friday night through Sunday morning, Feb. 12-14, at Sea-Tac Airport, where the official totals are measured for the area by the National Weather Service.

The storm started slowly with 2.2 inches on Friday before 8.9 inches fell Saturday and another 1.3 inches on Sunday before conditions warmed up and returned to a more typical winter day in the Puget Sound region.

Around town, residents trekked through the snow to local sledding spots, handcrafted frozen creations in their front lawns, and captured plenty of images to remember the snowy weekend.
