The 2017 wrestling season is off to a rocky start for the Thomas Jefferson boys and coach Harvey Cole.

Wednesday, the Auburn Riverside Ravens overpowered the less experienced Raiders in a 46-6 victory. The Raiders’ lone pin on the night came from team co-captain Jorge Rojas (138 pounds) to wrap up the night.

“Auburn Riverside is a technically sound program,” Cole said.

With the hardest team in the league behind them, Cole said the Raiders will continue to work on the fundamentals in practice before having some fun against quality teams at the Doc Herren invite, which starts at 8 a.m. Dec. 29 at Auburn High School.
