The inaugural Special Olympics Run with the Cops 5k to support Special Olympics Washington took place Saturday morning, starting at the Federal Way Community Center. All proceeds from the run will go to Special Olympics Washington, staying in the area for local athletes. More than 130 people from throughout the region participated in the run, which allowed community members to interact with police officers and run in support for a good cause. Nat Wall, no city provided, placed first with a time of 19 minutes, 39.1 seconds. Federal Way Police Chief Andy Hwang placed 12th, with a time of 26:48.9.
