Fire destroys Federal Way home Wednesday morning

No one was injured in a fire that destroyed a home in Federal Way Wednesday morning.
South King Fire & Rescue was called to the blaze at 5:03 a.m. at 31019 Seventh Ave. SW. When firefighters arrived, 50 percent of the home was consumed by flames. Firefighters put out the fire in the living and kitchen areas while searching bedroom areas, according to a SKFR press release. Fifteen firefighters had the fire under control in 15 minutes. They did not locate anyone in the home during their search and later determined the elderly woman was out of town with family and the residence was vacant at the time of the blaze. SKFR continues to investigate the cause.
