Federal Way Police officers arrested a man and a woman Friday morning and seized several hundred marijuana plants at a Twin Lakes neighborhood residence Friday morning.

Members of the Federal Way Police Department Special Investigations Unit started an illegal grow operations investigation following a neighborhood tip about suspicious activity at the house, in the 31000 block of 42nd Avenue Southwest.

While serving the search warrant Friday, they discovered the upstairs of the residence had been converted into an illegal grow and seized 756 marijuana plants and a number of other items associated with the grow, according to police spokeswoman Cathy Schrock. The residence is within 400 feet of Twin Lakes Elementary.
