The following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:

Elusive bicyclist captured: At 4:22 a.m. on June 20 in the 31000 block of Pacific Highway South, a man attempted to elude police trying to stop him after making multiple bicycle violations. When he was apprehended, police found that the man had a warrant for his arrest out of Auburn and was booked into SCORE jail.

Assault with intent to hatchet: At 9:30 a.m. on June 20 in the 33000 block of Pacific Highway South, a man was arrested for second-degree assault for threatening another person with a hatchet.

Hair extension theft: At 11:42 a.m. on June 20 in the 1600 block of South 312 Street, police were dispatched on a report of a theft. The victim reported a female customer stole hair extensions from her salon booth. The victim claimed to have called the suspect about the incident and said the suspect admitted to the theft. Police contacted the suspect, who said she only took hair that was leftover and meant for her own use. The dispatched officer talked to both parties and left without incident, noting that the argument had “civil tones” and was more “a dispute over services.”

Gatorade attack: At 7:11 p.m. on June 20 in the 27000 block of Pacific Highway South, a woman reported that her estranged significant other assaulted her with a partially full Gatorade bottle. No other details were readily available.

Walmart shoplifting: At 1:41 a.m. on June 21 in the 34000 block of 16th Avenue South, a woman was arrested for attempting to steal over $1,000 from Walmart and providing a false name to police to avoid a warrant out for her arrest. The case was given to the city prosecutor for false statement charges; Walmart filled out an online report for shoplifting.

Gunshots heard: At 2:16 a.m. on June 21 in the 30000 block of 4th Place South, a man reported hearing four gunshots and a vehicle leaving the area. Officers found four Smith & Wesson shell casings on scene but could not locate damage or victims in the surrounding area. No suspect information exists at present; the casings were booked into evidence.

Woman will burn down pumps after beer denial: At 6:37 p.m. on June 21 in the 27000 block of Pacific Highway South, police responded to reports of a female who became upset that she was denied access to purchase beer. The employee said he had never seen the woman prior and she wasn’t allowed to buy more alcohol because she was already intoxicated. The woman left, threatening to burn gas pumps down on her way out.

Potential package theft observed: At 7:44 p.m. on June 21 in the 28000 block of 29th Place South, a witness reported seeing a man run to his neighbor’s door — the witness said the neighbor wasn’t home — and return to a black Ford Focus carrying a package. Police gave the witness the case number for the neighbor once he returned home.

Mailbox malice: At 5:20 a.m. on June 22 in the 100 block of Southwest 368th Street, a man reported hearing “popping” noises and looked outside to see a dark colored sedan-like vehicle parked by some mailboxes. The man turned his porch light on and the suspect(s) fled, leaving six mailboxes open. The responding officer left business cards with case numbers in each mailbox for further documentation.

BB gun breaks window: At 9:04 a.m. on June 22 in the 32000 block of 7th Place South, a man reported his front window shot and broken by a BB gun pellet. The victim said he has cameras installed and kids who go to school with the suspect. The witness contacted the suspect’s mother who said she would pay for the damage, but she insisted the police still be called.

Woman followed by monsters: At 7:46 p.m. on June 22 in the 31000 block of 14th Avenue South, a woman the police say was “obviously suffering from some level of mental illness” called 911 to say she was being followed by monsters. The woman had a warrant out of Kent and was booked into Kent jail without incident.

Fake $100 bill spotted: At 10:42 p.m. on June 22 in the 31000 block of Pacific Highway South, a “visibly fake” $100 bill was found lying on the ground with the words “For Motion Picture Use Only” stamped on it. The bill did not have a known owner, wasn’t attempted to be used in a transaction, was checked for correlation with other fraud cases to no avail, and then booked into evidence.

Man eats gram of heroin, goes to hospital: At 11:28 p.m. on June 22 in the 33000 block of Pacific Highway South, police arrested a man in a transient camp on a felony warrant. En route to jail, the man claimed he had “eaten a gram of heroin” and admitted to using methamphetamine. The warrant was later unconfirmed and the man was transported to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center.

Burger Express robbery: At 11:39 a.m. on June 23 in the 32000 block of Pacific Highway South, employees reported that Burger Express surveillance showed two unknown males, both wearing hoodies and covering their faces, break into the business some time between midnight and 1 a.m. A desktop computer and cordless drill set were stolen. The suspects also attempted to get into the safe, but were unsuccessful. Later, two other males entered the business, looked around, and took some tools and clothing. Photos of the suspects were posted to Safe City Federal Way, but no further suspect information is available.

Trouble with curfews: At 10:21 p.m. on June 23 in the 31000 block of 3rd Place South, a mother and her juvenile daughter, the latter of whom “has run away several times in the past,” argued after the mother forcibly picked up the daughter after the daughter’s curfew. On the drive home, the daughter exited the car and left on foot in an unknown direction. The daughter has been reported as a runaway and the case is ongoing.

Two subjects arrested on warrant: At 5:11 a.m. on June 24 in the 32000 block of Pacific Highway South, police investigated an alarm call. Two suspects on the property were arrested and booked into SCORE jail after it was learned that one had a $20,000 felony warrant out of Everett and the other a $5,000 misdemeanor warrant out of Auburn.

Eggers egg on victim: At 7:20 a.m. on June 24 in the 37000 block of 17th Avenue South, a victim reported that eggs had been thrown at two of his vehicles overnight. The responding officer did not observe noticeable damage, but the victim claimed this had happened before and previously caused $4,200 in damage to one of his vehicles. Police advised him to call 911 if another incident occurred, but the victim instead told the officer he would sleep in his car and “could not guarantee the safety of the individuals responsible if he were to catch them.”

Domestic violence situation reported: At 12:03 p.m. on June 24 in the 28000 block of 25th Place South, a couple got into a physical argument about whether or not to go to a casino. The victim stated the suspect grabbed her, pushed her against a wall and punched her with a closed fist in the nose. When the victim tried to call 911, the suspect grabbed and broke her phone. After that, the couple spoke for two hours before the victim returned to her apartment and made a report to police 10 hours after the assault.

Unknown Texas number calls local woman: At 4:46 p.m. on June 24 in the 31000 block of 6th Place Southwest, a woman contacted police to say she received a voicemail from a caller at an unknown Texas phone number who stated the woman was under investigation by the federal government and had an outstanding warrant against her. The woman never spoke to the caller, who never identified themselves and requested a call back immediately, and said she was reporting the message for informational purposes.

Wife pulls knife, chases after husband: At 9:44 p.m. on June 24 in the 400 block of South Dash Point Road, a husband and wife got into a shouting match over one of their vehicles breaking down. The wife became upset after the husband took the keys, and she responded by slashing one of the tires with a large knife and chasing the husband down the street. No further details are available at this time.

Beware of dogs: At 3:32 p.m. on June 25 in the 33000 block of 37th Place Southwest, a woman told police she was having ongoing issues with the neighbor’s dogs. The woman said the dogs have repeatedly dug under her fence, gotten into her yard and acted “aggressively” toward her family. The dog owners were given a civil infraction for public nuisance and unlicensed animals.

Suicidal girl fights friend: At 11:28 p.m. on June 26 in the 3000 block of South Gateway Center Boulevard, a girl asked another girl she was staying with to use a razor. When the girl declined, words were exchanged and the girl asking for the razor threw a burrito at her, prompting a physical altercation. Upon interviewing the burrito-thrower, it was learned she wished to kill herself and is a ward of the state. She was transported to St. Francis Hospital.
