The Historical Society of Federal Way is currently hosting an exhibit at its Steel Lake Annex that traces the history of jazz in the Puget Sound region.
“Jackson Street After Hours,” which features a wide array of artifacts and photos from the 1920s onward, is fleshed out by insights from Paul de Barros. De Barros, the music writer for the Seattle times, collected vintage photos and extensive interviews with local jazz legends into the 1993 book “Jackson Street After Hours: The Roots of Jazz in Seattle.”
The Federal Way Historical Society’s Steel Lake Annex is located at 2645 S. 312th St. The exhibit is available for viewing Wednesdays through Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m.
