UPDATE: Man dead, woman critical after Federal Way domestic violence shooting Saturday

A woman is in critical condition and a man dead following a domestic violence shooting in Federal Way Saturday night, according to police.

A 911 hang-up at about 9:20 p.m. prompted police to respond to a house in the 28000 block of 13th Avenue South on Saturday. Arriving officers found a man, dead from a gunshot wound, and a woman in critical condition after being shot.

Federal Way Police Department officials say the couple was married. The husband, who lived in Kent and was estranged from the wife, gained entry to the residence and shot the woman before shooting himself. Both were approximately 48 years old.

The woman was transported to Harborview Medical Center.

Police are continuing their investigation and are not identifying the persons involved at this time.
