The main reason Federal Way became a city in 1990 was that the county kept building apartments and condos, causing considerable traffic congestion, and we wanted an end to the madness.

Now, this year, The SHAG, 400 apartments just off Highway 99 and 336th Street, and hundreds more low-income housing units across from Safeway on 320th Street, as well as 200 condos being proposed on 20th Ave. S. and on both sides of 333rd Street abutting Hylebos Waterway like we don’t have enough traffic problems now. It took me 18 minutes to go from Costco to 304th Street, not to mention that The SHAG is obstructing what was once a beautiful view of Mt. Rainier from Celebration Park. Thank you, city council.
